Summer 2011 Tournament Report
I alone am best! My list is here:
HQ
Master of the Forge w. Conversion Beamer 120
Elites
Dreadnought 105
Dreadnought 105
Dreadnought 105
Troops
5 Tacticals Sgt. w. Combi-Melta 100
Rhino 35
5 Tacticals Sgt. w. Combi-Melta 100
Rhino 35
5 Scouts w. Sniper Rifles 75
Fast Attack
2 Attack Bikes w. Multi-Meltas 100
2 Land Speeders w. Multi-Meltas and Heavy Flamers 140
2 Land Speeders w. Typhoon Missile Launchers 180
Heavy Support
Thunderfire Cannon 100
Thunderfire Cannon 100
Thunderfire Cannon 100
Total: 1500 Points
Pretty much bare minimum crappy marine troops and as much shooty as I could pack in. Vanilla marines strength is shooting, so I tried to embrace it. Also I'd heard on the interwebs that thunderfire cannons are good so I had been wanting to try them out. In a few test games I was really pleased with their performance. They seem fragile, but realistically it is tough for opponents to shoot them. It is one of those units that kind of defies theoryhammer. You really have to try them out and see. Battle reports to follow...

Re: Summer 2011 Tournament Report
It was quite the headscratcher... even as a Necron player with ridiculous mobility, how do I get there, reasonably safely, to dispatch the threat.
I ended up twisting in the wind.
I was kinda hoping flank-marching flayed ones could assault them, but clever deployment and movement saved you from that too.
Hilariously fun match though. (goooo 7/8 WBB roles! )
