The Great Devourer Empty The Great Devourer

So i sat down today and looked at all the models that i have that need to be put together and painted

this is each box i still have to do;
Tyranid Battle force x2
Warriors x1
Gargoyles x1
Genesteelers x 3
Hive Tyrant x1
Carnifex x 1.5 (halfway magnetizing the first one)
Termagants x1
Trygon/mawloc x3
Venomthropes x2
Broodlord x1
Pyrovore x1
Ravenors x1

so far all i have together is;
3 tyrant guards
2 hive guards
1 brood lord
1 lichtor
1 box of gargoyles
1 box of ravenors
1 box of termagaunts

so i guess i'll have alot of work ahead of me for painting and assembling
im actually looking forward to the assembling part and since i can probably do the big ol chain of putting all the gaunts together, i'll get those guys done first

I plan on magnetizing both fexs, and the warriors since i may want some CC or some shooties
as well magnets on the tyrant, and see if i can find any info on magnetizing the trygons and mawlocs so i can switch them out if i want to.

this is all from getting bored and cruising the net while deployed overseas

Got some pics of what i have together somewhere, have to take a look later

I love the colour scheme.

How long you think it'll take you to do the whole army?

Sweet ass colour scheme. Love the detail on the amour and the talons. Can't wait to have my Marines (Lions) cut down your Nids (tuna) lol. Maybe shouldn't have started that again... No but seriously the colour scheme is awesome.

putting together wise, not very long, except the ones that need to be magnetized (fex/trygon/warriors)

As a thought, putting the green on the plates might look realy nice if you tried a couple more steps. Maybe a darker green doing the pattern first, then the goblin green or scorpion green next. Then maybe some bleached bone painted on ly on the edge of the plates. Migh look nice. That's a lot of mini's to paint!

this was a real quick paint job that i wanted to try out,

i was thinking the same thing for the greens, i did the painting before i picked up that paint set, so i just continued on.
now, on the bleached bone part, are you talking like say on the side edges?

i may dip alot of the little guys, gaunts and stuff, but i want to take my time on the ravs, wars and the even bigger guys
im probably going to build some term or homagaunts and start using those as my test/practices guys and see what i can do with those suggestions scott

also, gonna have to pick up a really small bruch with a small tip, mainly for the teeth and the eyes part, the long tip i find harder to control but thats just me

so primed up two more raves and gonna try those suggestions scott,

found a nice green in that case so gonna try my first set of valleho paints out today (yes im kinda excited)

so do a darker green, then the two greens i have
also going to do the bleached bone on the outside of the armor plates, i might just do the body first and then do the head after, depending on the armor on the outside first.

oh yea, i might try one other thing, not saying yet,

prep for pictures later today

I'd love to do the league thing but I live south of Humboldt, My days are often long and unpredictable. And My wife and I just had another Miracle joining your lives Today (Hayley. born 4:09, weighs 7.12). So the chances of me coming to toon town for just 40K is slim( for a couple months). I was however thinking in March I might have a simple battle day. I've got a big basement and more then enough beer and beef to go around.
