Greatest Tank battles

Hey this is something I have been thinking about for a while. After watching "greatest tank battles" on discovery history I've been thinking that would be bloody sick to just have straight up tank battle with 40k.
The Elites and fast attack would have to be limited to a normal 3 per army. Other wise SM would just drop a bunch of Ironclads and melta and CC the oppent in one turn, Or a tau army would do the same only with fast attack speeder things. The rules would also have to be a vehicle would have to have a Armor value. No Armor saves. Other then that it would be straight forward. Yes sadly this type of battle will discriminate some armies (Necrons). but for SM, IG, Eldar, Tau, and the Orks it should be very interesting

This would be fricken awesome, if only I had more than three half-finished Leman's kicking around....

That exists already, rules and all. its called "warhammer 40k spearhead".

rules are in the june issue of white dwarf I believe

there is a bunch of cool apoc style battle formations for it too with swanky rules and what not. It looks pretty wicked in my opinion

what did they say about tyranids for spearhead? just some good ol fex loving or maybe one of those barbed heirodule.
