Thoughts on Blood Angels list. Empty Thoughts on Blood Angels list.

So here is a list I threw together after I bought some of the new models.

HQ
Commander Dante 225 pts

TROOPS
Tactical Squad. 255 pts
-10 marines. Sergeant with power fist, marine with flamer, marine with missile launcher
- Rhino

Assault Squad. 145 pts
- 5 marines, Sergeant with thunder hammer, marine with infernus pistol

Sanguine Guard. 240 pts
- Marine with power fist, Marine with chapter banner

FAST ATTACK
Baal Predator. 140 pts
- Flamestorm cannon, 2 heavy flamers, dozer blades


There, that should be about 1000 points. What do you guys think?

So, just so I follow, the only anti-tank in your army is 1 Rocket Launcher, and 3 Melee dudes...

perhaps you may consider investing in melta-guns or Devastator Sqauds

that is what the single infernus pistol is for Razz go go melta pistol!

At 1000 points you shouldn't be seeing more than maybe 2 main tanks. unless against mech guard that is. transports such as rhino's or equiv. aren't that hard to break. and with the flamestorm, 2 infernus pistols and 2 fists and a thunder hammer, i'd say it'll be an easy time taking out vehicles. I would wonder why dante would be in such a small force however, but he is pretty awesome.

If you took mephiston, he could take on a whole tyranid splinter fleet single handedlt. He is Str 6 with a force weapon so tyranids beware!

I agree with you Greg. The fact it's a 1000 points is the reason I didn't lascannon loadout the army.
As for Dante, I don't really know the reason he is in such a small force, other than their owner isn't decked out in cash to really get anything else.
I have always liked Dante, and wanted to take him in the new blood angels lists.

With all that fist, hammer and such action, I wouldn't be too worried about vehicles. I might switch out Dante though, he doesn't really fit this small force. A simple librarian with blood lance vastly increases your anti-tank (you wanna keep your rhinos together to screen? Okay, here's a s10 lance that hits everything in a 4d6 line!) With the extra points, through a dread or some such in there!

How do you think tycho or a chappy would fit? If I drop Dante I could take a small death company and chappy/captain

I agree with Paz about taking the blood lance librarian because it's awesome... even if it is only str 8 ap 1, not the magical railgun he seems to think it is pirat yeah, it's a pirate emote, what now?

Well it does have the 'lance' rule so everything become armour 12. also it keeps going through things and every unit that it passes through takes a hit. so a line of tanks is gonna be hurtin.

I think a chappy with pack would be the best fit, with tycho coming in second. You could use the points saved to bring that assault squad up to 10 guys too.

here's a question for you guys. If I line up two rhinos with the blood lance, does the second one get a cover save? The lance dodges over combats, which block line of sight, so is it safe to assume no cover from the first rhino if its blocking?

I think the second one should get a cover save, also if the lance jumps over a combat I think they should get a cover save. There's nothing that says it deny's a cover save, there's no reason to think that it would (Other then fluff, but who reads that anyways?)

I'd have to agree with tom. nowhere does it say ignores cover, so i would assume it follows normal rules for cover. could assume the lance losy its potency from the first hit and managed to not hurt the second. Though you could hit things that are not in line of site. so trying to hide vehicles behindbuilding or other vehicles wouldnt work.
