Space Marine Librarian?

So my Salamanders army is conforming to a complete fluff-based scheme as more of an exercise in painting skills rather than creativity, and so everything follows what basic conventions GW has established for colours and what-not.

I have however run into a dilemma - I've never actually seen a Librarian wear terminator armour and use his helmet - the bald faced arrogant jackass he is

So I have a question for those who know the fluff and the schemes well - what colour does a Salamander terminator Librarian use for his helmet? Librarian armour is always blue, but different chapters have different patterns for how their terminator helmets work (ultramarines are white as per the 1st company, salamanders have green helmets...)

I know I can, but I'm aiming for a scheme that's 100% fluffy... like I said, exercise in painting skills, not necessarily creativity. my other armies are for that.

Well, each chapter can often be different, and each librarius can change, but rule of thumb is you have two choices.

1. all blue armor and helmet, with salamander green for shoulder pads.

2. only helmet and both shoulder-pads blue, and the rest salamanders green (my pref).

I looked though the index Astartes article on Librarians, and those are the most common for the founding chapters/legions.

Hmm... I thought librarians were only the first choice. The second choice is much more appealing, makes him look like much less of an ultramarine.

Thanks pascal. Do you own a copy of index astartes? If yer at the den this wednesday I'd appreciate you bringing it so I may thumb through it - I've always wanted a copy but haven't bothered to look for one

I have index 1 and 4. The rest I have in white dwarf form. I won't be at the den Wensday, gotta work.

The den used to have insignium astartes which would be exactly the book that would have the answer to this i would think. Now wether or not they still have it im not sure

insignium astartes is juat all the index astartes color guides in one book, so it won't give any more of an in depth answer.
