League Play-offs

Play-off Match-ups
Allrighty, I finally got things tallied up. There was over 160 games played this last league, which was pretty crazy. Like I said, I decided to include 16 people into the playoffs this time around since we had so many people signed up. The top 8 players each have control points, so they should have a small advantage over the other players. However, as long as your in the playoffs, you have a chance.
Ill post the match-ups here along with where you finished in the standings. I drew randomly for the match-ups. If you see any odd problems with where you finished or anything like that, let me know ASAP.
Pool A
Adam (130) vs. Jesse (20)
Joe (140) vs. Randy (110)
Zack (60) vs. Jared (20)
Jim (120) vs. Reagan (50)
Pool B
Kieran (110) vs. Tom (30)
Tim M (40) vs. Ryan K (0)
Ben (100) vs. Tyson (150)
Matt K (90) vs. Rhett (80)
Round 2
Joe vs. Jesse - Joe won
Zack vs. Reagan
Tom vs. Ryan K
Ben vs. Matt K
As with previous years, everyone is to make a 1700 point list, and add to that your bonus points that are listed besdie your name. So for example, Adam will make a 1830 list. You are allowed to use your control points during the play-offs, but you can only use a maximum of 4. You must select which control point powers your using before the playoffs begin, and have to use the same ones throughout the playoffs. You can choose the same one twice, but have to apply it to a different unit.
Roll randomly for your scenario/deployment at the beginning of the game. If the game ends in a tie, go to kill points to determine a tie breaker. If it's still a tie, whoever finished highest in league standings will be the winner.
I think thats everything for now. If anyone has any questions, feel free to post them up. We'll give a few days to see if anyone has any questions then feel free to start planning your matches.

Just have one quick question that really matters to me as my first opponent is nids, and my second opponent could also be nids.
Are we using the new codex for the finals? Or are they limited to the one they used during the league?

Will the match-ups be fairly straightforward after first tier? IE If I win first tier am I up against whoever wins Tim/Ryan, or do we get matched again?

is that Jesse me? and seconding the question about using the new dex with it being out so soon. I haven't even got a game in with it due to building new stuff and lack of time.

Sorry, usually with 8 players that match-ups become pretty clear. But yeah, think of it as a single elimination. The winner from the first pair, takes on the winner from second pair, etc. etc. I should of formed 4 pools to make it an easier read..

Ok, just kidding. Yes, I actually psyically wronte everyones name and drew them, believe it or not. If you think you got it bad, I went two leagues in a row where I finished in 8th place. First round both leagues I had to take on the first place finisher.. not only was that rough, but both tinmes it was the same guy.. *shakes fist at Ivan*

In an incredibly close (and I mean 'Oh wait, the Basilisk is open-topped so it is wrecked' close) game, I beat Jim's guard list. An incredibly good game.
