Hey if a marine landspeeder is equipped with 2 multi meltas and it deepstrikes, can it fire both on the turn it arrives?

There was a bit of debate over deep-striking....and what exact speed your vehicle moved during deep-striking. At the time, we could not decide and diced off a decision.
Look into deep-striking and see if you can find a reference to the speed the vehicle travelled to deep strike. If I remember the arguement correctly, someone said that deep striking vehicles move at cruising speed to deep strike and therefore cannot fire any weapons.

A land sppeder can't have 2 to multi meltas. it can have a multi melta or heavy bolter and on bottom it can have assault cannan, heavy flamer or missle launcer. right?LexMechanic wrote:Hey if a marine landspeeder is equipped with 2 multi meltas and it deepstrikes, can it fire both on the turn it arrives?

Re: deepstriking speeder
I use speeders a lot, so this comes up for me.
Page 95 of the compact manual. Under the deep strike section, says that vehicles count as having moved at cruising speed.
Fast vehicles, as per the charts at the books rear, can fire up to one weapon plus all defensive weapons if they move cruising speed.
Thus, It can fire one melta. Honestly, I recommend swapping the second melta for a heavy flamer because of this, but thats just person preference. =)

Hey guys, try and watch what you respond to. If you know the answer, that's great, but if you start writing down answers you think is right but aren't 100% about, it can definitely lead to some confusion.. not for the person who asked but for anyone who else might read the answer. This applies even more so if the answer ends up being wrong.
