Deep Striking transports Empty Deep Striking transports

So I was going through options for my land speeder storm/ccw scout squad im going to field and came to an impass. If I deep strike the storm can I disembark the scout squad and assault with them the same turn. Its the storm thats deep striking with the squad inside is the thing. As arguement for this I going compare it to something somewhat similar. Drop pods have a special rule that says squads cant assault on the turn they arrive, which leads me to think the rule is there because your allowed to under normal circumstances. The only other thing I can think of thats similar would be DE raiders/ravagers. Thoughts/opinions/funny emoticons?

p.s. yes I am still alive!

they cannot not assault when you deep strike. this is from the rule book on deep striking pg 95

In that turn's assault phase, however, these units may not launch an assault (even if they have the "fleet" special rule), unless clearly stated in their special rules - they are too disrupted by their deep strike move.

Yeah, its like this: the open-topped vehicle allows you to deploy out of the moving storm, but the deepstrike rules over-rule that.

I read that as only applying to the storm though as the squad is inside it. I'm thinking its that way because the drop pod includes the specific rule preventing assaults for the squad inside. Why would they include that if the generic deep striking rules applied to the squad inside the pod as well.

The squad is also deep striking. they don't magically appear on the battlefield as if they had been there the whole time matt.

Keep your magic to the cornered based fantasy games. And when are you coming back to a real city so that i can make fun of you in person?

Curse you Greg, i think if I asked if you like girls you would say no just to argue with me. But in all seriousness atm it looks like I wont be back up that way until the end of August and I have been saving up glib remarks just for you since I came home...its gonna be insult armageddon(Sp?)! Moving back on topic: but dont you think they would have left that drop pod special rule out if the generic deep striking rules covered it anyways?

p.s: Support my side!
