Not unless otherwise specified. They can, however, make Stomp Attacks.

Also, poison & sniper only wound on a 6+, Instant death only does D3 wounds.

So a chapter master with a thunder hammer and shield eternal can kill most tyranid gargantuan creatures in cc? That seems off... Stomp attacks seem underwhelming.

Stomp prevents you from getting swarmed in CC.

I'd just rely on regular attacks against a single model. They can smash, if they want to. Thunderhammer has to get past high toughness and FNP.

Gargantuan critters also have Strikedown... I think that helps too???
