benefits of playing codex: space marines
i was thinking today about what does the smurf codex have over all the other codices and thought it might be worth compiling a thread of what they get.
their basic land raiders aren't transport capacity 10, they're 12.
their drop pods aren't transport capacity 10, they're 12.
They get the Thunderfire Cannon.
They get Ironclad Dreadnoughts.
They get Land Speeder Storms.
Their basic captains make bikes troops.
They have the largest selection of special characters.
Their scouts are the only ones with hellfire heavy bolter shells.
They have the Storm Talon.
is there any i missed that you guys know of? we can add them all into this first post to keep tally of what makes them worthwhile to play.

You've pretty much covered it. Although you did leave out the Storm Talon. (Both blood and dark angels flyers are much more expensive, and wolves are afraid of heights)

Combat Tactics.
While not ALWAYS useful, being able to deliberately fall back can be super handy.

DA get combat tactics, but then they get fearless, stubborn, and grim-resolve (can't choose to fall back)
