I enjoy the fact that Kill Points is no longer a mission type. I still need to figure out some of the math behind that 3rd deployment type, though.

AA+BB=CC

Everything has a right angle, so it's all that grade 9 math you did :-). B is 24, A is the distance between two of your units on the same line. C is the distance between A and some enemy unit.

Or you can just measure, as you can just do that whenever now :-)

I meant for determining the deployment zone in a more elegant way that just laying a tape measure down from corner to corner to mark out the mid line, probably fighting with terrain, then measuring out the front lines from that, again, likely fighting terrain. I've been trying to math out how long the two sides of the deployment zone should be, but it is actually rather annoying to math. I have all three angles known, but without one concrete length for any given side, the math stalls there. I suspect I know where to get the length on one of the sides, but I could be wrong. I had been hoping to do it all with pure math rather than having to resort to just blocking out a bare table and taking measurements.

My current math on Vanguard Strike suggests that along the short table edge you would have just over 34" to work with, and along the long table edge you would have a hair over 59" to work with.

I've found that it's almost easier to do things in this order:

Roll for deployment style
Build table to suit deployment and to make cool looking and appropriate map
Roll for mission
