Team Battle Results

Team 1: Mike, Kevin and "The Kid" with Marines, Sisters, and Marines vs:

Team 2: Tim, Mike B. and Beau with Marines, CSM, and Marines

Yup, that's a lot of Marines. Although Mike's Red Scorpions did stand out some from the sea of blue. Won't go into huge detail, but it was a blast and good times were had by all. It was Dawn of War with 6 objectives. Team 1 won the roll and elected to go first but Team 2 seized! Seizing didn't do much as it turned out. I think we killed a razorback and a rhino with our combined shooting. Team 1 steadily got the upper hand in the early going with Kevin's rocket-tank thingies blasting all of our vehicles, and our return fire against them was ineffective. "The Kid" looked unstoppable early on as he rolled up the right flank. Bob the dreadnought blasted a predator, and his thunderhammer terminators smashed a CSM squad then continued on into a hapless unit of sniper scouts. Both halves of his tactical squad were reduced to a single member, but undaunted they continued to fight. His lone plasma gunner shot down a land speeder and his lone lascannon guy only hit once in the whole game, but that single hit reduced a land raider to a smoking crater!

Had the game ended on turn 5 Team 1 would have secured the victory but alas it was not to be. Turn 6 saw the pedulum swing back into Team 2's favour and they were able to squeeze out a draw. It was a hard-fought game and lots of crazy stuff happened on both sides. Thanks to Scott for setting up the game

the game was a lot of fun. Everyone pushed hard to the objectives only to have much blood spilled from both sides.

I would def want to be apart of another game such as this.

"The Kid" certainly lived up to his name, six-guns blazing. I know he was personally responsible for at least 1/3 of my army dying. The sequence that let to Dave the Lascannon gunner taking out the LR was hilarious. Hamburger Hill in the center pretty much chewed up and spit out everything that set foot on it. By my count, mike's command squad, captain and rhino; Kevin's SOB repressor and squad (5 left), both of Mike B's rhinos and CSM squads plus 2 Oblits.
I think our side made several blunder. Not enough mobile scoring units. They were able to deny us 5/6 obj on deployment alone, so it was very much an uphill battle.
Game was a blast, wish we would have had time for turn 7 (if only to see how many more would drop)

i was rather tickled at how my command squad rolled all 5s and 6s to hit and then just wiped out mike b's demon prince in one volley; that was my personal achievement for the whole game that i'll remember.

I take pride in the fact that i had the most troop choices of anyone, and still ended the game with only two models on the board (both contesting objectives!)

We should do this every month when there isn't a tourney. Next one, I hope someone else runs it so I can play.
