The Judith Lullaby Kabel (A Dark Eldar Story)
Well my project is on the way, and i am almost done modeling my first 3 squads and a lord. I have 2 10 man squads of warriors done and a 10 man squad of Wyches half done. But at this point all models are pre-green stuff
The Warriors were a pretty easy conversion and they really are dark elf Corsairs with splinter rifles. but i really love the way they turned out and im not sure if ill add much green stuff to them besides gap filling. i'm really looking forward to painting these guys. which brings me to the point that my colors are not 100% picked yet. im thinking of a dark blue/ purple mix with dark pink high lights and black under tones. i really like that blend, but like i said i'm not for sure on those colors.
The Wyches on the other hand take a lot of work, lot of cutting and reshaping limbs. i'm combining the old dark Eldar warrior with daemonettes with the weapons from the corsairs and a few weapons from marauders. so i have to cut off the bottom part of the legs and use the warrior boots, there will be a lot of green stuff on the legs and behind of these girls. had to cut off the tails which left lots a gaps.
The lord is Vlad Von Carstein vampire count. I love this model and his armor is strangely very similar to the corsairs. i haven't done much modeling to him yet and i'm really not sure if i should keep the sword or not. i just haven't come up with a good replacement yet. i'm going to try and take some pictures once the Wyches are finished tonight to show them off before i start sculpting.
i was really hoping to get my order in at the den this week so i can get some raiders together so i can play a recon game with them. but heres to hoping ill have them ready to hit the table next Wednesday.

Thanks Pascal i do like those colors, and i added that pic to my color idea file. if you or anyone else sees a color scheme similar send it my way.
the big color i'm not sure about is skin tone, should i go dark with white hair like a Drow dark elf or pale skin dark hair. i'm worried if i go dark skin the model will be too dark to really see the detail of the face. but i am pretty torn.

as you can see i added a new unit. last night i bought some cold one knights, i am using the cold ones as warp beasts. i still have to reshape the saddle to look like just armor plating. also i wanted to by a dark elf beast master but the only one at the den was in the hydra box, so no go there. some of the pics are a little blurry, i just didnt have time this morning to retake them. let me know what you guys think

Your conversions are looking really good so far. Im looking forward to seeing some paint on them. You are putting some new life into a really out dated army figurewise. Keep up the good work and keep us updated!

dark elf to dark eldar, you're living the dream dude....
As far as faces, I think albino elves would be cool, a purple base for the skin, highlighted to light skin, and light, platinum blonde hair with dark armour.

Oh yeah, like the twins from the Matrix reloaded or the elves from Hellboy 2.
Really cool stuff here so far, it's good to see some Dark Eldar flavor finally. ^^

I saw them in person at the Den and they're looking good! I can't wait to see them in action.

just a short update.
Well just to let you guy have a little update on how things are going, thought i would make a quick post. i have not had much free time to commit to my new project but i have started gap filling with green stuff and i have finished re-sculpting the the cold ones into warp beast and changed the saddles to armor plating. ill try to get some pictures up before i prime them which i haven't done yet because of windy, rainy weather we have had the last few day.
The Wyches still need more work to make them look less like Demonnetts but i have finished their legs and back ends. I will wait to take pictures of them until i have finished sculpting. but i will be at the den tonight with them to try and get some games in.
As far as colours go i am still not 100% but i am leaning towards pascal's recommendation about albino look for skin and hair.

Still alive
Well guys, I know it's been awhile since I have been on the forums, and that is due to the obvious change to my schedule and free time has been quite limited. I am sad to say that what I have gained in quantity of players here in Halifax I have lost and very much miss the quality of players in saskatoon. It's hard to find a good group of guys, my old groud have all been convered to wow players and I have only spoken to them once thus far.
This made me try to meet some new guys so I went to the GW store here one Saturday for a small tourny they had going on (500 recon style) where I did pretty good except when playing guys who cheated far too much for me to keep calling them on things and almost walking out of the store mid game. This has kind made me loss my excitment for my new dark eldar project. That and buying the new space hulk game and wasting time with fallout 3.
So I am here really to check in on you guys to see how things are going and get myself motivated. To give myself a bit of credit I do have my color test guy about 90% done and em prettty happy with how he turned out will have pics in the next post. Good luck in the play offs guys, except chris. Girls should not be allowed to win

Don't worry, we make sure chris does get near a trophy.
Sorry to hear about your lack of quality players. We have quite a few new faces here as well, but i haven't met a majority of them. I'm excited to see your DE colours. Get er done and post!
BTW WOW IS THE DEVIL!! right Cam?

Im pretty sure that wow is a ploy by the gods of chaos to lull mankind into a vegetative state of atrophy, in order to make us weak and complacent. When enough souls are weakened, and our resistances are down, chaos will strike.
It is estimated that 9 million people play wow...
I for one shall welcome our new overlords.

Re: The Judith Lullaby Kabel (A Dark Eldar Story)
Warhammer saved me from WoW. I was trying to quit, and modeling gave me something to do with my spare time.
WoW is a hellish she-deamon who won't stop devouring your soul until you die at you computer, in the middle of a boss fight, spamming chain heal on the MT so he doesn't die from....
=I=censor=I=, I am sinking back in!
Oh, and btw, I really like your conversions.

Hey man, good to hear from you. Sorry for lack of quality guys. Youll have to take a peek around the local stores, I was sure there were quite a few Grey Knights out that way that were running some events and clubs.. but Im not 100% sure.
Its really easy to lose your motivation if you dont have that group of people you can bring your new stuff out for and get advice, critique and show off a bit.
I did play Wow for a few years, but was pretty casual. I have a few buddies that still play alot.. which is why you never see them at game nights or even out in public for that matter.. Im pointing directly at Darren and Trev.. turn off the comp and whip out the dice!

Re: The Judith Lullaby Kabel (A Dark Eldar Story)
Ah WoW. I'm still trapped in the demonic cesspool, one of the reasons my army is still unpainted.. The other(Primary reason) being that Adam's our designated painter since I can't do it worth a damn, and he's got his hands full with painting 3 armies, assembling his own, working, and of course keeping the lady happy.
Also, sorry for the thread-jack, and yes those models do look great. Good work on the converting, and good luck finding good people out there. I'm very glad I decided to take up this hobby in Toon-town and met such a great group of gaming guys.
heh.. alliteration ftw.
