~S.W.A.M.P. Febuary painting entry- Skink priest~

For this month's painting comp over at SWAMP, I decided to do something I had never done before; firstly fantasy, secondly lizardmen! I'm not a huge fan of the army, it seems to bright and cartoony for my tastes, but I did love Tehenhauin, priest of Sotek. he exemplified the dark aspect of sacrifice and ritualism I think the lizardmen need more of. So, without further ado,

Really nice work. The blood effects look perfect without overdueing it. The two creatures watching add flavor. The only thing i'd mention is i would have put some jewels onto the corpse..... Wait that corpse is a skaven right? If so Disregard the criticizm. How did you make the corpse. I don't remember seeing that model so i don't know if the corpse comes with it or it's greenstuff.

Excellent paint job 8 on coolminiornot.com and higher if the corpse is greenstuff.

Thanx!! The creature torn asunder is a skaven priest, and no, I didn't sculpt it . This was all metal, the only greenstuffing I did was try to match the scenic base piece with the plastic base. 8 out of ten?

The reason that i mentioned the gems is that it's lizardmen. After a human killed an enemy his prize would be loot or weapons. Instead all the Priest is after is the heart which is more important than all the jewels or weapons on the body.

the jewel comment makes sense now but it was border line Stash-like in it's relevance without the explanation!

i own Space Marines, Eldar, IG and Orks..... if i don't get some stuff lost in translation i'm not really suprised. For as much as i proof read my posts i usually wind up making assumptions that like in this time go over everyone elses heads. I guess i'm Stash Jr. weather that's a copliment or a critique i'll take it for something.

I had posted some Orc models on the Fantasy board. I was quite proud of them, but always looking for crit's....

Stash: "I think you should add more yellow to them to make the more realistic"

Me: "WTF does that even mean? What the hell are you talking about? Make sense!"

Stash: "Orc's run away, they're yellow. You should paint them yellow to make them more realistic (stupid emoticon goes HERE)"

Ahhhh Stash.
