and i am just starting but i have not gotten a single minor victory yet so yeah..........

Ryan beat me to it.. but yeah Ben.. you serioulsy have to fix up the messages.
I got half way through reading the message and just skipped the rest. When it's written like that, it's hard to take the message serious.

I played eldar as my first army against the stoon folks and i scored 0 wins until i switched to chaos. even with chaos i did not win for at least a couple months of gaming. I would suggest you not switch armies based on your win record but because you prefer the models, fluff, etc of the new army. best way to get better is to ask your opponents what you did wrong and learn from their advice. don't run away right after your game.bensutherland333 wrote:i am not giving up on my eldar i still like my space elves but i want an army that is better for beginners also sigh i have been performing quite poorly with my eldar i know prctice makes perfect and i am just starting but i have not gotten a single minor victory yet so yeah..........
The rest of you need to stop picking on the kid so much.... he just needs a little advice.

Re: changing my alligance
Its not picking on.. I haven't mentioned it before but the last message was pretty rough to fight through. Message forums are not the place to let bad grammar slide.. were old.. and crotchety.. !
As for plague marines, it will probably be hard to find anyone sellinbg them because they are awesome. They are 26 points for one though, the most expensive of the cult troop units form the codex. I'm pretty sure they are a bit more per model over the thousand sons, but end up being just a bit chepaer per unit when you buy your mandatory sorceror.
It takes a long time to learn 40k.. and it's not just about knowing what your units can do, it's also about knowing what your opponents units can do to you and how the rules play into that. Eldar have alot of powerful offensive units that are specialized to specific things. They are low toughness, so you know you have to be especially wary of that during your games.
If the losses are getting you down, there's not much to say against that. The main priority for playing should always be to have fun, but at the same time winning is always good. The wins will come eventually, but the learning curve for 40k can be steep. Keep in mind your playing in a league with people who have been playing now for a long time. I dont believe that if I were to have taken it easy on you when we played that it owuld of made you a better player.
As such, you did very well when you played. You did a couple things that could of gotten me into trouble like keeping your wraithlord in reserve and getting a quick assault on the berserkers. The only reason yu eventually lost was primarily because I had more expeience than you and was able to keep my troops close to the objectives and made sure I had the right units fighting the battles I wanted.
So, my advice is just to keep playing. I've probably played at least 300 games with Khorne Berserkers in my army in my list and probably have assaulted almost everything in the game at one time or another.. so i know exactly what they are capable of doing against any unit. It just takes a litte bit of time.
Now, don't forget the breaks in the sentences. I could get pas tthe captials.. but you some periods man!

Re: changing my alligance
I'd really suggest that you stick with eldar. However getting any advice for armies from a person like me is dangerous at best. I've got way too many armies as it is. I'm sure that over your games your getting better and your adjusting your stratedgies. You are also playing for the most part alot of good players in stoon.
If you are set on Chaos though i will pass along this thread. My friend pretty much read the Chaos codex went looking on 40konline and found this thread and he's a converted follower of nurgle now. Chaos Army Thread
Pretty much at the end he bakes out this list. I warn you to buy some earmuffs cuase alot of people will be screaming beardy. It's a vicious list though. Which may cause you more problems than loosing ever did.
HQ-Daemon Prince, wings
HQ-Daemon Prince, wings
T-10 Plague Marines, 2 Melta Guns, Champion + Fist, Rhino.
T-10 Plague Marines, 2 Melta Guns, Champion + Fist, Rhino.
T-10 Plague Marines, 2 Flamers Guns, Champion + Fist, Rhino.
Hvy-3 Oblits
Hvy-3 Oblits
Total: 1675 Points.
In the end whatever you choose is up to you. Don't get discouraged though it's the journey that's all the fun.

Re: changing my alligance
Ben,
I think it pans out like this. Let me just get my old man hat on and hop up on this here soapbox....
The 'net is a clunky way to communicate and just like doing it face to face when you want to speak to people on a forum there are ways to do things well, and poorly.
So far for the most part everyone has treated you with a fair amount of respect and answered your questions. But in the same way that if you ran up into someone's face and started shouting a question there are right and wrong way's to speak to people. If you put a little more time and effort into your posts you will be rewarded accordingly from the fellow posters here, and likely everywhere. But bottom line is that it's just good practice to learn and utilize proper grammar, you'll never be old rockin' on a stoop somewhere wishing you HADN'T learned to communicate more effectively.
You can do it, it's no different then writing at school. If facebook uses that crappy form of communicvating I heartily reccomend not following suite and practice everywhere you can.
We were all young once, and some still are. But nobody got better by not trying. You can do it.
Allright, I'm off the soapbox for now.
By the way Eldar suck and are totally queer.
