Painting Day?

Hey guys,

So being someone not so skilled with the whole painting shizaz as some of you other folks I was wondering if peoples maybe interested in arranging a painting meeting sometime between now and Calgary where experts (Paz, Cam, Rob, etc.) could bestow some advice to lesser knowledgeable individuals such as myself (I was reading painting guidelines online today and realized despite my having like three 40K armies that I have no idea how basing, pinning, drybrushing, etc. even work(s)) =P). So yeah, if people are interested perhaps we could use this as a base of discussion as to when, where, how, etc. Thoughts?

hey justin. yeah, I'd be up for a painting day, mabye a sunday some time in the next few weeks?

I really enjoy getting together with a bunch of people and painting. The problem is space and lighting. It is hard to find a place that will house a bunch of people with desks and chairs. I would be willing to go down to the den for a painting day, but i suggest that everyone bring their own lamp. I picked mine up for $9 from canadian tire. Probably another couple bucks for a good light bulb. April 20 is after i am done finals too, so that is good.

But April 20th is Hitler's Birthday!

I think it will be the Den, i guess Robyn will have the final say as he is setting it up. I think it will be a good time, spend the day, order some zza, good times.

id be down wit dat. i love painting but it seems kinda boring sometimes when you do it by yourself all the time.

So, as a thought, and up for discussion, how are people on the 13th (noticing the 6th is the Apocalypse Game =P)? An unofficial painting session. You know, meet up that day, do some painting, share some tips, come back on the 20th, see what people have learnt and what all they've done between then and now. Not even necessarily at the Den but probably going to end up there anyways. =) Thoughts?

I have an exam on the 15th and another on the 17th so i am out.

Yeah you know, it's funny. As I read your reply Cam I realized I have a final the 14th anyways, so I'll go ahead and retract my statement. =P

I would certainly be up for a paint day.

edit= nevermind, nobody i know is going, so im not gunna haul a pile of paint around the city trnasit system

So is the 20th painting day still going ahead?

Also Paz if you need a ride provided my car is not buried in snow (what with Environment Canada speculating 50cms of snow this weekend ) I'd be able to give you a lift if you're still interested in showing.

Rob=.. lol i was gunna tell ya, cjihad (chris) just picked up the unpainted, still in pieces forge world blood thirster for $50 from some kid in the city as part of an army buying deal, what a steal! (you could assassinate him and take it!)

So Tommorow is the painting day right?

Wow. I can't believe I just missed my own paint day. =P Sorry folks (especially Paz). I was informed last night that my family was having a brunch today at 12:30 and I couldn't miss it. I just got home like 40 minutes ago, checked my e-mails and this forum and realized today was the painting day. Cheers to double booking. =P So yeah, I hope things went well, poop that I forgot/couldn't make it.

Everyone else (robyn)= I JUST HELD THE BLOODTHIRSTER. that fucking thing is sooooo pretty... and huge!!! totally unpainted or primed, partially constructed, its... i dunno what to say..... God i want to see that thing on the table. GODZ!

Just how much are you looking for for that Bloodthirster? I'm interested.
