non dedicated transports
i came across a discussion about this on the b+c the other day and was considering using it in my army so i was wondering if it had been covered already. The issue is can a unit start the game in a normal transport(ie tac squad in a heavy support slot land raider or equivilent). I wasn't able to find any cut and dry evidence for this but i did find stuff on p.94 or the bbb under preparing reserves saying you have to specify if any transport vehicles is carrying any of the infantry units as well as on p.67 in the 'lil box about dedicated transports it says their limitation is they can only deploy with the unit they were selected with. I read that as any normal transport can carry any infantry unit at deployment or in reserve and the 'limitation' is ded. tran. can only carry their unit. opinions?

Re: non dedicated transports
if a dedicated transport is bought for a unit (any "upgrade transport listed under the units transport options") then ONLY that unit may start the game in that transport. But after that 1st turn, ANY unit may use that transport. Thats all dedicated transports mean now. Any unit may use them, but only the unit they were bought for may begin the game embarked on them.
Transports that are not dedicated may opt to have any units start in them that they can fit. ie, a Heavy support land raider not bought as a terminator dedicated may have a tactical squad and your captain embarked on it 1st turn.
Clear as mud?

Re: non dedicated transports
thats what i figured, its doesnt explicitly say that in the rulebook anywhere but its implied enough that i thought it was their intent. just wanted to make sure thats how we were running it.
