Imperial Guard rumours!!
First chimeras look like they will be 55 points weapons included (YYYAAAAAAAAYY!!). This is actually the forge-world update to address the changing cost of transports, such as Rhinos (now 35 pts), however the inquisitorial chimera is updated as well http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/pdf/ia2-update.pdf

Looks like cheaper guardsmen, with more options instead of doctrines.[b]

Re: Imperial Guard rumours!!
Sounds interesting, I really do hope they fix the army. It just can't compete anymore. The second dakka link sounds like complete and utter bullshit to me (too much stuff they don't need, and Plastic DKK? Forgeworld wouldn't let that happen, don't worry scott) however, the other stuff seems believable. I can't wait to do MY all chick guard army!!

Re: Imperial Guard rumours!!
Actually Ryan I totally believe GW would W product into their main range.
-Drop Pods
-BaneBlades
-Venerable Dreadnoughts
GW has been looking over the popular items and then pulling the product into plastic for a little while. They won't look as GOOD as the resin ones, but I would completely believe they would push the range into plastic. I better buy more resin just in case!

Re: Imperial Guard rumours!!
Those are old rules for the guard. I think it's pretty damn cool.
Guard is still a very popular army for GW, except now that 5th is out so you can be expecting something pretty from the codex.. I hope. As long as they get something to mitigate the kill points. However, if you nerf the kill points, you have to change the troops thing.. it will be interesting to see.
Ive been tossing around the idea to start painting lots of basic guardsmen up now in anticipation of good stuff to come!

Of course, a couple Valkyries loaded with Storm Troopers swooping across the table to cease a couple objectives on Turn 5 sounds fun too....

Better that pace then 6 books, all playtested poorly with junk mini's.
Course if they only do 1-2 books without playtesting and poor models then we should go get them bums.

Kinda like Fantasy?? Although the models, from what I've paid attention to have been good. How many books did they have in the last year anyway?

Re: Imperial Guard rumours!!
'08 had Chaos Mortals (weak army, good figs), Chaos Demons (overpowered, good models), Vampire Counts (Maybe that was late '07, overpowered, good models), and I think that might have been it. '09 should have Lizards first quarter, Tomb Kings second quarter, and I have been hearing Skaven rumors forever.
Figs are getting better and better but the trend over the last 6 army books was pretty poor. The game seems to be embracing it's 4th edition herohammer roots more and more. Still better than 40k of course!
-Oh yeah, Dark elves as well. Over powered, and I hate the figs. They're well done, I just don't like the spiky elf thingy. Faggy elves!

Yah, nothing beats fantasy pfft. Oh wait everything does! Going back to good ol' cheese roots. That usually brings out the best in people, especialy at tournaments.

It's still a helluva game. I am NOT pleased with the trend in the army books as of late for sure. I think Warriors of Chaos payed the bill for demons of Chaos in being so weak in comparison. It's not that big a deal here locally, as any powergamers don't tend to make it very long in the group. They usually get pushed into playing 40k by us (Yessss! Burn!) but the combo's that are available are very uncool and not what the game was about until about 1 year ago.
It's still fantastic and the ruleset is a big improvement. They just keep putting out books that are way too powerful and once you've got 4 or 5 books out there it's a good 5 years to have them all revised and fixed, just in time to get screwed up again!
Ah well. Still enjoying the hobby more then ever right now.
