Darren has informed me that Star Trek attack wing is having a tourney (only 6 guys tho)

But i thought wednesday was 40k night damnit? What is attack wing anyways? Sounds like an X wing rip off to me...

X wing and attack wing came out about the same time the rule set is almost identical, I have a large amount of attack wing but never play with most ppl around here

Assuming same set up at XWing they'll take up two tables. Should be room.

X-wing is Fantasy Flight Games, and as far as I know is the "first" game to come out.

WizKids makes attack wing, and bought the rights to use the rule set. Since WizKids had their Star Trek "clix" game already, those lazy bastards just imported those clix ships to attack wing, putting them on bases like Xwing etc.

Where Xwing is done at a nice 1/277 scale (or something), there is no rhyme or reason to attack wings scale... everything looks grossly out of proportion, and ugly. I am a huge star Trek fan, and I tried getting to Attack Wing before Xwing, but I didn't like it at all. Xwing is way more flushed out, and feels more like a game when you play it.

So yeah, basically exact same game, though the movement templates are slightly different. You can't use the attack wing move templates in Xwing, things would be slightly skewed.

Oh and looking for a game next wednesday 6pm start, 1500-2000 pts?

Ive never played any of the attack wing games, but the D&D one has been reviewed quite favorably. I could never play a second game thats similar to one i already enjoy.. but at leasts its fantasy based and not another spaceship version.
