militarum tempests

been going over the special rules for my ig and militarum tempests armies, and I came a across  some really interesting facts on the MT. Originally thought that the separate codex from the base ig codex was a like a EA dlc, a lot of money for little content, but I was wrong turns out that the codex can be used with every imperial codex. Also first time I used the codex I over looked that the Prime can issue orders, not the normal IG orders but its own some what over powered orders and if the command squad has vox caster and a normal ig squad in with in 18" that ig squad can use the primes leadership when making a fear morale or pinning test.

It is a stand alone codex, if you want to use just Storm troopers. Keep in mind that any imperial codex can ally with any other imperial codex, so astra militarum can ally with tempestus, tempestus can ally with sisters, sisters can ally with marines etc etc.
