Zhao-Arkkad Skitarii

finished my test scheme for my skitarii force.  I wanted to use a forge world near the red scorpions home world, but the only close major one is Graia and i didn't like the black on black-grey of the walkers, so i decided to make a scheme for one of the less major forge worlds, which happen to be closer anyways.  So i chose the planet Zhao-Arkkad:

It has only recently been re-consecrated, and the Forge World's Techpriests are noted to be the possessors of the STC template that allows for the production of the Praetor Armoured Assault Launcher.

is about all the information i've found about the planet.  Looking at the star map in the codex, i would've chosen Gryphonne IV since it seems a little closer, but as of the last Tyranid codex, that planet has been lost and is now a dead planet.

REDS: Basecoat Vallejo Burnt Cad Red. Wash Nuln Oil. Drybrush Mephiston Red. Drybrush Evil Sunz Scarlet.
METAL: Basecoat Leadbelcher. Wash Nuln Oil. Drybrush Necron Compound.
GOLD: Basecoat Brass Scorpion. Drybrush Golden Griffon.
BLACK CLOTH: Basecoat Vallejo Black. Line Highlight Vallejo German Grey.
CAPE: Vallejo German Grey outside, Baneblade Brown inside.
LENS: basecoat Vallejo White. Glaze Guilliman Blue.

Very nice. How did you do the bases?

bases you start with a basecoat of a red, i went with vallejo burnt cad. red.  mephiston red would work too.  after, but a thick thick layer of martian ironearth.  itll crackle as it dries, and the thicker you but it on, the better the cracks look.  the ring is doombull brown.
