I don't play either faction, but it's gunna be hard to resist those figs... My haqq can take aguiciles and mobile brigada in the qappu-qhalqi sectorial, so I might just have to grab some anyway!

So here is a super noob question. Inside this set do you get a copy of the new set of rules that are supposed to be coming out? Or just the new rules for Operation Icestorm?

That would be the box set I am really looking for. (i know you can read them for free on the website, which is awesome, but sometimes it is nice to have a physical copy).

You get the rules for N3, the new rules, as far as I can tell, though they may be just starter rules. Operation icestorm is just a few scenarios to play with the models you get.

The big thing is you get counters for the game. As someone who has had to make his own (too cheap to buy any) a set of official counters and D20's will be nice!

looking at the video, i get the impression its like the mini-campaign book that came in dark vengeance;  it tells you how to play the game and understand all the basics, and does so in an escalation style method of scenarios like traditional RTS campaigns like Command&Conquer do.

the first mission shows you how to layout your buildings on the gaming mat and teaches you the basics with just the basic fusiliers and the nomad guacamolies or w/e they are.  the 2nd scenario rearranges the buildings again and you add in one of the heavy infantry models and learn what lieutenants are and how they work.

i find it interesting that now 3rd ed will have these silhouette profiles for every model so if it hasnt got an official release yet, you have an idea on how big the model is, and what size base it uses to determine LoF

Lol, alguiciles are pronounced "Al-gwah-seal-ays"

There's a number of funny pronunciations in infinity, b/c of the European designers.

-Antipodes assault pack "anne-tip-oh-dees"

-Kum riders "Khuum" like "doom"

Yujing faction "jew-ching"

Like the Bolt and Penth? The civie will come with the first 5000 which you can pre-order through LGS's, or so Corvus said.

Ahh, I opted out of Gencon edition. I can't see myself needing an extra bolt and I already have the original Penth model, which I actually like better.

Darren said he's pre-ordering a couple boxes so I'm down for one.

I didn't, no. I would recommend hitting the den after work and checking it out. He might be able to order more.

Some lucky ducks that went to a tourney in Spain got to buy Icestorm already, so between them and the BoW vids here's a summary of the changes that we know are coming for 3rd edition.

Interesting times ahead. The weapon range band changes are particularly interesting - they seem to be giving each weapon a distinct role and trying not to cross over.

Can't wait to get my hands on an official copy of the new rules.
