The vast majority of PC games. Even remakes of old console games (FFVII for example is up there). It is a digital marketplace and stores your library of games on their cloud. So you don't have to keep them all installed. You can even register physically purchased games so it goes into your game library. Its actually quite handy and has been out for the better part of what 6 years?

whenever Half Life 2 came out; they were one of the first games to go onto steam.  but back then, they pissed off alot of the playerbase cause originally, you had to be online just to play single player mode.

Well it was one of the first forms of DRM. I don't think tons of people were that upset about it (none of my friends were). If you were running a good enough computer to play half-life two you tended to have a decent internet connection.

Its such a good service now that if i have a choice i will always buy the steam version first, its just so convenient to have my game library handled by someone other than me. no boxes to store, no discs to worry about. AND you actually get very good deals on older games, unlike say bestbuy or EB games who want full sticker price for a 5 year old video game. holiday deals are great too, i picked up the entire Civ5 collection WITH ALL dlc'S for like $12 at xmas.

Steam is what the digital experience should be. (ie: removal of all personal responsibility:P )

Yea the bundle deals are amazing. Last year I got every THQ game for like 30 bucks or something.

This year I trolled the $5 deals. Picked up a half a dozen games I'd been watching for. Even better is putting something on your wishlist so you get an email when it goes on sale!

I have a hard time believing that someone from the gaming forum doesnt know about steam... thats so.. bizarre.

True. StarCraft 2 came out and the whole country almost simultaneously decided that it sucked.

I own a PS2 Asia version, S1, X-box (original) and PSP (original). I rarely play computer games. I usually stick to facebook games.
