Stormravens

I happened to be perusing my Grey Knight codex this afternoon when I came across the following blurb "For the purposes of claiming/contesting objectives and embarking/disembarking from a Stormraven, measure to and from its base." page 37.

It would appear that while the Stormraven might normally be to tall to score in missions that make them scoring that line would indicate to me that it still can.

I apologize Matt I was unaware of that blurb until now!   (I don't know if this would have mattered or not in our game).

Wasn't that for the 5th ed. Codex, before flier rules that out?

It matter sin 6th. in The scouring, the Fast Recon rule allows vehicles to Score, and that rule would allow it to score from the air, by measuring from its base.

Cuz GK are just awesome like that and are better than everyone else.
Every other flyer has to measure from its hull and hope that its close enough.

which is especially crappy with the new tourney faq that mark posted, cuz they specify that objectives are all only 15 mm tall....

Well the only portion (as Mike points out) is that for measuring for scoring is done from the hull of vehicles now. All of the fliers that I am aware of are to tall to score an objective, except for the helldrake (because of the goofy angle it sits at). However since the codex specifies that scoring/contesting is done from the base for stormraves...

I would also point out that is the wording in the Blood Angel codex as well.

It is not in the new 6th space marine codex.

in regards to objective markers, they put in the GW FAQ that now its legal to place the markers inside buildings and ruins on upper floors instead of only the ground floor like before so mounted troops could be able to claim objectives. (whoops, someone at GW forgot bikes cant climb stairs).  the only thing they dont allow you to place them in is fortifications.
