Apocalpse, yay or nay?
So glancing over the apoc rules and I still can't decide about trying to play a game. D weapons just seem too crazy. I got 2 scythed hierodules as a gift a while back but a 6w creature doesn't seem to stand any chance vs D weapons.

D vs non-vehicle D6 roll:
1= avoid shot
2-5 model loses D3+1 wounds (I like this as monstrous creatures can
survive 2 or 3 shots now so daemons and tyranids will be happy)
6= D6+6 wounds
Your MC and GC's are waaaaaaaaaaaaaay better off vs D weapons then vehicles!

I guess I'm more looking how do you combat things with D weapons. Just seems odd the power scale between them and all other guns titans can carry doesn't exist.

As I understand it, you can glance super heavies and their ilk to death now that they are rocking Hull Points.

I loved old Apocalypse.. there is nothing that excites me about the new version.
The most upsetting thing being $100 for the rulebook and the lack of any bundle deals. The reason it was so successful the firat time around was yeah.. it was new and getting more epic but the bundles were mind blowingly awesome. Stupid Gw.. im sure the relaunch bombed.. you hear barely a whisper about Apoc these days and it just came out.
As for the rules.. not sure how much they changed. I was mad enough abput thw pricing to skip it.

To me the biggest problem with Apocalypse (as Robyn mentioned) is the price. If you have access to the models and rules it would be awesome. However, for the same price of getting an Apocalypse army I can get at least 2-3 regularly pointed armies. There isn't an army that I see myself consistently playing enough to invest in. Especially since I tend to like playing the currently unpopular army (why I am in the process of switching from Tau who are apparently unbeatable according to the internet, to Grey Knights). The only army I might have is if Black Templars had gotten a revamped stand alone codex.
