Re: What's Next?
I can totally see a Squiggoth type unit coming in with their current Monsterous Creature focus. I imagine all the ork flyers will be made more official.
All the ork rumours I read from don't look too crazy. I kinda like tha the Weirdboyz get stronger the more boyz are around them. Kinda makes fluffy sense. As well, Telyporta Mega-Nobz would be fun.....I think I would have to take the "Blood Axe" guy to bring my boyz squads back...that sounds like fun too....
Overall, orks looks interesting.

Re: What's Next?
So far all I've heard on the C:SM front is the Land Raider Terminus (no transport capacity, ALL THE LASCANNONS!) and that it might be one big core book with a number of supplementatary for Chapters, much like what we saw with C:Eldar. I would love to see a new Nid codex soon, as Codex: Scary Space Monsters is currently taking back burner to all the other books Scary Space Monsters.

re whats next
Has any one heard what space marines are getting? Hope not a terminus land raider. I have one, they have a huge target on them and they never kill there points. Probably a big walker. Every new dex since gk's have gotten one.
I'm really interested in the space marine release. But God please don't let Phil Kelly write it... After the CSM, and Eldar release I'm surprised he still has a job at GW.

Chaos marines and eldar are fine. You don't have to win every game you play for it to be a good book. If you win half you're games your doing alright.

Re: What's Next?
Well they both suffer from serious internal balance issues. Other than that they are actually good books.

Just curious.. what do you mean by internal balance issues?
Like.. good fast, heavy choices but crappy elite?

Re: What's Next?
Just like the chaos dex there are clear winners (wave serpents and fire prisms) and clear losers (falcons and banshees)

Pretty much every book but one, maybe two, has that.

Even Grey Knights and 'Crons have their red-headed stepchilds. It's just so many things are obviously good that you always take them. (Purifiers, Psyflemen, Wraiths, Annihilation Barges)

Terminus Land Raider is being rumoured. We'll see what happens. A new "big" walker is rumoured also.

I agree with Tom's synopsis of the Eldar book. Banshee's and Falcon's are terribad, followed by Dark Reapers (too expensive) and Swooping Hawks (how many points for a T3 4+?)

Re: What's Next?
the terminus is likely being tossed around because Apoc is slated for july, and that's one of the few "super-heavies" space marines get, despite it having zero structure points or void shields in its profile. they're not likely to swap it into the core book as a normal unit since that's 300pts of 3 TL lascannons and 2 normal ones with a 4 HP AV 14 shell to get them around. the thing's a titan/superheavy hunter, and belongs in Apoc where you can spam these all day.
i'd lean towards a new mega-walker like the other codices are getting. preferably MC-class, and not AV-class, so the bugger stands a chance against focused fire. just hope its not some ugly bugger, like some kind of stormtalon with dread-knight legs and boxier looking arms. and one can only hope that maybe since its coming out in the middle of these new books, it wont be stupidly priced with blah rules like the last couple space marine flyers have been, either.

Re: What's Next?
agreed, the terminus is unlikely in normal 40k.
i could handle a dreadknight/stormtalon mashup. what i dont want is a retooled dreadknight. something like a contemptor, but a MC would do the trick.

Re: What's Next?
I hope Tyranids doesn't get that 'build a unit/monster' kit like before. It makes it confusing and hard to write lists.
Also I never liked the part where guns were dependent on the strength of the guy holding it.
Just an updated and enhanced version of the current book with a few new baddies and better balanced points and stats to keep up with the rest of the books. Like Carnifex being less than 160 points.

+1 to carni being cheaper, would be nice to have an assaulty carnifex back too, instead of one that does better as a firing base....

Re: What's Next?
Dominatrix is what the 'nids will get. Which is amazing....
If it comes out in the new year, I'll have a tough time resisting that purchase. I really miss playing 'nids. (I missed playing Eldar too).... Someone buy my 'crons so I can lower my wife agro.
Edit: November for 'nids apparently. Just read this on BoLS "Specifically the new kit is said to be sized in comparison to the Tyrannofex as a Wraithknight is to a Wraithlord." || That be big, yo.

It'll be hard for me to sneak that purchase off, but I guess I will have to.
Do those rumours have any info on what the Dominatrox does? Also, have you read who is writing it? Please please please no Phil Kelly.

I want and dont want the Ork book. It will be nice for some quality of life things and perhaps a new unit but I actually enjoy the ork book as is.

The Ork book has aged well. I have a feeling that many things I like will be nerfed, such as Ghazghkull and Lootas.

I have gotten away from using Lootas. They are too hot and cold for me. Give me meganobz hidden in a truck any day. And I do mean hidden...

With the meta moving away from Rhinos and Razorbacks, Lootas are not as necessary as before.
