Does focused witchfire roll to hit?

Yup I think so. The "focused" part comes in when you roll low enough on your psychic test to pick out an enemy model.

I think the key word is "resolved against" that model, or a random model.

For Mind Worm (from Ezekial), even though it's Assault 3, you could only ever kill one dude with it, because it's resolved against a single model. (however, if you manage two wounds against a multi-wound dude, his stats are gonna go down the drain!)

Ezekial would pick a model in a unit, rolls psychic test, if under 5, gets to pick who it's resolved against, greater than 5, it's a random dude, then rolls to hit with his 3 shots.

The only power that forgo's rolling to hit would be the beam, where it specifically, automatically, hits. Nova's and Maelstroms (no Maelstroms in game yet? Eldar book maybe?) would roll to hit against everything in range. (Which is why that 12" range nova is kick ass)

A weird thing Trevor and I noticed, is that if your focus power test is above 5 then you randomly select a different model. So if you target a special weapon guy and roll a '7' then you have to random everyone else in the squad but your intended target.
