Re: 2000 pt Ultramarines Space Marines
welcome, and hope your weather is better than ours.
So....
Marneus and 3man Honour Guard in a DP.
2x Riflemen and 1x Venerable Dread w/ PC
2x 5 tactical squads w/ Rhinos
5 man biker squad w/2 flamers and an attck bike w/MM to ride with your biker captain
2x Stormpigeons
1x dakka pred.
You're very low on scoring units (3).
I'm probably hugely discounting their abilities, but I'd drop Marneus and his crew. They are no doubt fun as all get out when you get them into combat, but they are tying up a huge amount of points (400).
Invest the points into a second biker squad (+210) and upgrading the tacticals Rhinos to LasBacks (+80) then get a second pred (+85). Yo've got 25 extra points to dump somewhere. Give your biker capt a Storm Shield and Meltabombs, and upgrade to a Lightning Claw. If you have 5 points to drop somewhere trade the Claw/Power weapon for a Relic Blade.
My $0.02.

Re: 2000 pt Ultramarines Space Marines
If you're going to have a 5-man tactical squad in a vehicle, it's probably best to be a Razorback.
I predict a few things will happen in games.
1) You'll cough up first blood due to the death of a Rhino or Drop pod
2) You'll be disappointed in Calgar & Co.
It's a solid enough list, I just feel like it could be tighter.

Re: 2000 pt Ultramarines Space Marines
there's a few things that you might do better changing out. also, your point costs for your stormtalons are wrong now that they changed the point values in Death From The Skies. here's the changes they made:
on a side note; guys. stop coming up with these dorktarded nicknames for the models. stormpigeon? call it by the proper name, or people not familiar with the local in-store joking wont know what the hell your talking about. it's a stormtalon, or 'talon. moving on.
so chuck, i'm just gonna toss your list into army builder here to make it easier to read; the line spaces you wrote in made it a little hard to read the first time through. then i'll make some suggestions on what i might alter here and there. and i'll apologize if the reply gets wordy; i just wanna make sure you know why i'm making the suggestions i am, instead of just going "hay! take this or your list sux!!" it'll also let you see the reason for the changes, and decide if they work for you or not.
2000 Pts - Codex: Space Marines Roster
HQ (6#, 550 pts)
Marneus Calgar, Lord Macragge, 250 pts (Power Armour; Power Weapon; Orbital Bombardment; Gauntlets of Ultramar)
Honour Guard, 150 pts
1 Chapter Champion (Artificer Armour; Bolt Pistol; Boltgun; Power Weapon)
2 Honour Guard (Artificer Armour; Bolt Pistol; Boltgun; Power Weapon)
Drop Pod
Captain, 150 pts (Boltgun; Power Weapon; Bike with Twin-Linked Boltgun)
Elites (3#, 425 pts)
Dreadnought, 125 pts (Twin-Linked Autocannon; Twin-Linked Autocannon)
Dreadnought, 125 pts (Twin-Linked Autocannon; Twin-Linked Autocannon)
Venerable Dreadnought, 175 pts (Dreadnought Power Fist with Storm Bolter; Plasma Cannon)
Troops (18#, 485 pts)
Tactical Squad, 140 pts (Bolt Pistol x4; Boltgun x4)
Sergeant (Bolt Pistol; Power Weapon)
Rhino
Tactical Squad, 135 pts (Bolt Pistol x4; Boltgun x4)
Sergeant (Bolt Pistol; Boltgun)
Rhino (Pintle-mounted Storm Bolter)
Space Marine Bike Squad, 210 pts (+2 Flamers, +2 Bikers)
Attack Bike (Multi-melta)
Sergeant (Combi-Flamer)
Fast Attack (3#, 405 pts)
1 Stormtalon Gunship, 125 pts ((DFTS, pgs. 57 & 68); Vehicle (Flyer w/ Hover mode); Ceramite Plating; Twin-Linked Assault Cannon; Escort Craft; Strafing Run;
Skyhammer Missile Launcher)
1 Stormtalon Gunship, 140 pts ((DFTS, pgs. 57 & 68); Vehicle (Flyer w/ Hover mode); Ceramite Plating; Twin-Linked Assault Cannon; Escort Craft; Strafing Run;
Twin-Linked Lascannon)
1 Stormtalon Gunship, 140 pts ((DFTS, pgs. 57 & 68); Vehicle (Flyer w/ Hover mode); Ceramite Plating; Twin-Linked Assault Cannon; Escort Craft; Strafing Run;
Twin-Linked Lascannon)
Heavy Support (85 pts)
1 Predator, 85 pts (Autocannon; Heavy Bolter (each side))
Total Roster Cost: 1950
so to start off, you're list is actually 50 points cheaper than you thought thanks to the point changes in the Stormtalons.
next thing i'd point out, is you decided to take a boltgun on your biker captain; this is both unnecessary, and actually makes your profile for him suck more. since he's on a bike, he's going to not only have a boltgun, but it will be twin-linked. plus, swapping the bolt pistol out for the boltgun means you dont get the +1 bonus attack to your profile for wielding a pair of one-handed weapons; in this case, your bolt pistol and (i'm assuming) power sword.
my suggestion here would be to leave him with his bolt pistol.
since we also have extra points to spend, i'd recommend upgrading his 15pt power weapon into a 30pt Relic Blade. its twice as much, but now you're striking at strength 6 (wounding marines on a 2+), and you're relic blade is AP3 (no armor save for marines not wearing terminator armor or artificer armor.)
i'd also go another step further, and spend another 15 points for artificer armor so the only power weapon/guns your worried about is AP 2 and AP1. which your 4+ iron halo save will protect you from.
so that uses up 30 points of your 50 spare points so far.
next, i'd downgrade your venerable dreadnought to a normal one. the extra 60 point cost just for the venerable rule, and +1 BS and WS simply isnt worth the added point cost. that, or either drop him altogether, or downgrade him and drop one of the autocannon dreadnoughts, depending on which you want to keep more. the autocannon ones are more useful, so i'd suggest dropping this one altogether. the reason being i'll explain next.
your troop selection is way way too small for 2000 point lists. too many of the missions in 6th edition are objective-based, and you have a whopping three 6 model units to hold them with. the usual safety net rule for your troops, is to have 1 troop choice for every 500pts the point-cap of your roster is. so at 2000 points, you should have closer to 4 troop choices.
since you already paid for Rhinos, increase the size of your squads to 10 men so you can also put a special and a heavy weapon option into each of them. a plasma gun is handy, and the missile launcher, heavy bolter, and multi-melta are all free to take. i'd suggest the missile launcher to add some str 8 weapons into your army in case your face something with armor 13 or 14 .
by dropping the venerable dreadnought, you can increase your 2 existing tactical squads to 10 men each, put a plasmagun and missile launcher into each, and give a power weapon to the other sergeant. make sure you're trading his boltgun for the power weapon so you get 3 attacks in close combat with the power weapon, instead of only 2.
finally, the big point sink in your list is Calgar and the honor guard. since you're investing so many points into a biker captain, a biker squad, and your 3 stormtalons, you're not taking advantage of calgar's ability to let you take several large size honor guard units. if you really want to take him, you should drop the bike captain and the bike squad, and increase the honor guard to 10 men, which would make them cost 145pts more than they do now, but then you have a much better sized unit of buys with 2+ armor saves, power weapons, and boltguns that get to do 3 attacks each with those power weapons in close combat. 4 attacks each if they charged. honor guard are more effective in a large squad instead of the bare minimum size.
dropping them lets you add more troop choices, giving you that 4th unit you should take for the 2000pt limit.
so here's 2 lists you could do instead, just tweaking what you've got there. the first with with the bike captain, and dropping calgar:
2000 Pts - Codex: Space Marines "Biker Captain"
Total Roster Cost: 2000
HQ (1#, 180 pts)
Captain on Bike, + Artificer Armour + Space Marine Bike + Relic Blade
Elites (3#, 365 pts)
Dreadnought, + Twin-Linked Autocannon + Twin-Linked Autocannon
Dreadnought, + Twin-Linked Autocannon + Twin-Linked Autocannon
Dreadnought, + Plasma Cannon
Troops (39#, 965 pts)
Tactical Squad, + 5 Models + Plasma gun + Missile Launcher
Sergeant + Power Sword
Rhino, + Hunter-killer Missile + Pintle-mounted Storm Bolter
Tactical Squad, + 5 Models + Plasma gun + Missile Launcher
Sergeant + Power Sword
Rhino, + Hunter-killer Missile + Pintle-mounted Storm Bolter
Tactical Squad, + 5 Models + Plasma gun + Missile Launcher
Sergeant + Power Sword
Rhino, + Hunter-killer Missile + Pintle-mounted Storm Bolter
Biker Squad, + 2 Flamers + 2 Bikers
Attack Bike + Multi-melta
Sergeant + Melta Bombs + Combi-Flamer
Fast Attack (3#, 405 pts)
Stormtalon Gunship, 125 pts = (base cost 110) + Skyhammer Missile Launcher 15)
Stormtalon Gunship, 140 pts = (base cost 110 + Twin-Linked Lascannon 30)
Stormtalon Gunship, 140 pts = (base cost 110 + Twin-Linked Lascannon 30)
Heavy Support (1#, 85 pts)
Predator, 85 pts = (base cost 60 + Heavy Bolter (each side) 25)
and this is the list where you focus on Calgar and an honor guard Squad of 10 guys:
2000 Pts - Codex: Space Marines "Calgar"
Total Roster Cost: 2000
HQ (12#, 645 pts)
Marneus Calgar
Honour Guard, + 7 Honour Guard Models
Drop Pod
Elites (2#, 250 pts)
Dreadnought, + Twin-Linked Autocannon + Twin-Linked Autocannon
Dreadnought, + Twin-Linked Autocannon + Twin-Linked Autocannon
Troops (33#, 700 pts)
Tactical Squad, + 5 Models + Plasma gun + Missile Launcher
Sergeant + Power Sword
Rhino
Tactical Squad, + 5 Models + Plasma gun + Missile Launcher
Sergeant + Power Sword
Rhino
Tactical Squad, + 5 Models + Plasma gun + Missile Launcher
Sergeant + Power Sword
Rhino,+ Pintle-mounted Storm Bolter
Fast Attack (3#, 405 pts)
Stormtalon Gunship, 125 pts = (base cost 110) + Skyhammer Missile Launcher 15)
Stormtalon Gunship, 140 pts = (base cost 110 + Twin-Linked Lascannon 30)
Stormtalon Gunship, 140 pts = (base cost 110 + Twin-Linked Lascannon 30)
the nice thing about how these 2 lists work, and with how rhinos work now, is you have 3 full tactical squads to hold objectives, but you can also choose to combat squad those to get 6 units to hold objectives, and still have them ride together in their rhinos. just pop out one 5 man unit at one objective, and have the other 5 guys drive up to the next one.
as to which list is better, i think both would be able to win games for you. its just going to be your personal preference on which one you like more.
- the talon now starts off as only 110pts
- skyhammer missiles dropped to 15pts
- Lascannons increased to 30pts
- typhoon missiles increased to 35pts
- stormtalons no longer have hover strike. instead, they enter hover mode just like storm ravens and valkerie/vendettas do. so now you can choose to act like a fast skimmer, or a flyer each turn.
on a side note; guys. stop coming up with these dorktarded nicknames for the models. stormpigeon? call it by the proper name, or people not familiar with the local in-store joking wont know what the hell your talking about. it's a stormtalon, or 'talon. moving on.

Maybe that is what he wants and is using super reverse psychology on you
@ the OP. I would go with either of the two lists that Mike suggested. Your first list lacks any sort of focus in what it is hoping to do. You have some tacs, some bikes, some dreads, and calagar with a min squad. Nothing looks particularly scary and a good opponent will shred your troops first turn and then just turtle until the game ends so he can win on objectives.
