New League Painting/Modeing night?

Would anybody be interested in having a painting/modeling night this league?

Work has fairly monopolized my time and made it damn near impossible to game except at my place. If I am able to get out it mean the wife-person is putting in 16-18 hr days which means I get to enjoy my nice couch....

I was thinking of focusing on painting this league and trying to get my Dark Angels/Grey Knights/Orks "done" (table top std, ie 3 colors, based, and a wash.) Thought some others might be in the same boat and we could get together and help each other out. I've been doing this for years and there is still stuff I don't get: Green Stuff, edge highlighting, etc.

The only hiccup I see is where to hold it? The Den, someones house? Mine MIGHT work, depending on times. One it warms up, I have a decent spot in the backyard for spraying and the like.

i think that's a great idea.

could be a good use of say, Monday nights, when the den is closed.

I can't host nights unless we are done by 9. Still have to install a doorway between games room and my spawn's cave.

i'd be in for this, beau. i'm willing to offer tips and show how i do some of the little things i do here and there to my models. and now that i have a whole 1750pt biker army to repaint, i could use the time to devote to my models this year.

Peoples still interested in this? like i said, i can probably host on Monday nights, if people don't mind driving to martensville. wife tells me i can just relocate my spawn to the spare bedroom those nights until we are done.

I'm up for doing Beaus house too, but his wife is a cook tease.

Wednesday and Friday night's are best for me. Monday is the cookteases usual girls night. Who else is in?

i could do Fridays. Wednesdays I'll be tied up until the end of the month.

weds work for me since its my new day off. fridays are hit and miss cause of work.

I could do Fridays or Wednesdays at the den.

Stuff I`m interested in learning (feel free to post stuff you guys wanna see):

Green stuffing (basic)
highlighting (I understand the concept, looking for a quick and easy way to do so)
making washes

paz is definitely better at that stuff, but i can give you some starters on the first 2 beau.

as for me, i'd like to learn to do metallics more like how paz does; i really liked the gold armour he did on a space hulk libby i bought from him a while back.

oh and general airbrushing. I'm not looking at any real tricks, just how to set up my cheapy GW airbrush for doing basecoats and whatnot. Someone (Kraus?)had mentioned doing highlights by spraying the second color at a 45 degree vertical angle while rotating the mini on a turntable or lazy susan.

I could probably help you get set up next time I'm in, so long as you have some kind of compressor available. Just remember that thinning your paints down is doubly important for the air brush as it keeps it from clogging at the needle. I usually clean mine out after use by spaying some paint thinner through it, followed by a water purge.

Well I probably can't make Friday, I will still be at the den tonight painting, if anyone is down.
