First Game points guideline
I already introduced myself a while back but haven't had a chance to play a game of sixth edition. What is a general points guide for someone like me who hasn't played sixth yet? I hope to play sometime in the not too distant future but I just can't seem to schedule a time. I seem to have plenty of time to mess around with different army types; Battlescribe seems to work "Very well" with my necrons. It is available for PC and Ipod4.
So, how many points for a first "training" game?

I'd recommend 1000. It lets things move quickly enough while still feeling like a "real" game .
Once youre comfortable, just start adding points, the usual here is anything from 1500-2000.

750-1000 is a great starting point for figuring out the game, especially so given that it forces a lot of point considerations early on which will be useful when figuring out what you can slip into a list at higher point values.
The average game around here sits at the 1500 point mark.

about 1000 gets you enough units to understand the mechanics of strategy and list building. Most games that I have seen in 6th are at 1500.
