Black Templars - Feel No + Old School Bionics
I was flipping through my old Black Templars Codex and was wondering how Feel No Pain would interact with Bionics. Both allow you to roll a D6 after suffering a wound and after saving throws. There isn't anything in the FAQ regarding it that I noticed. Anyone have thoughts?

While I can't say for certain, I think it would probably boil down to "only one save per wound" thing, where you have to use the better of the two. It's just super rare to encounter multiple save types at the FNP stage of wound resolution.
So, in my brain it would go: Declare Attack > To Hit > To Wound > Primary Save (Armour/Cover/Invuln) > Secondary Save (FNP/Bionics) > Re-animation Protocols > It Will Not Die.

That is the thing though, you are only allowed one "Saving Throw" of which neither Bionics or FNP is. Nor is there anything as a "secondary save". Both simply state roughly "when a model suffers an unsaved wound you get an extra roll to negate/ignore the wound". FNP mentions that it is somewhat of a special kind of save, while Bionics mentions nothing about saving throws (i belive it states "roll a d6 and on a result of a 6 ignore the wound"). I can post full versions of the rules when i get home for clarity.
p.s. you also forgot after to allocate, people always forget to type out that step =P

You could have both in 4th, how did that interact then?

Not a Clue, I stopped playing not long after 4th came out and it never came up.

I dont see it as an issue. spend all the points you want for that last hope of hopes.
in fact, giving the unit fnp probably makes bionics a worse upgrade than it was before. as the number of times you'll be able to actually make the roll will be less.
Lets be honest here. BT's arnt exactly tearing it up on the tourney scene i say let them have their cake.

I think the fact that the Black Templars made it into the big chart-o-allies in the 6th Ed core rules shows that they are probably going to be getting some updating in the future.

hopefully, but there has been a lot of talk of folding them back into regular SM. I just wish they would make a decision one way or another.
