no time for painting....want to have it done

so what is the average cost to get someone to paint your army....I have no idea but I might start thinking about because I jus thave no time to paint anymore with kids starting school and work being crazy.....I even have an open house at the reserve division that I have to organize my people to do something at for the 26th of september.


So has anyone had an army commisioned for painting and what did it cost per model as I figure I have about 60 models that need to be done. as well who would actually do this in saskatoon......

I think it is more of a how much would it cost vs my time comparison.

My general understanding of most commissioned paint jobs is that it goes for around the price of the model being painted, or more if the person doing it is super spiffy good at it. That being said, I have no direct experience in this matter, just hear-say and some general observations off of idle eBay browsing.

really I am looking at getting my SOB repainted to a better standard as I have found I just am not so good at it. and they are need of repair since they were last painted in 2006.

I could give it a shot, if you want. I should have most everything I need to paint them over here, including a jug of Simple Green and a dual-action airbrush I've been itching to try out. The only thing I could see myself currently missing is any particular colours you might want to use for your sisters. I don't know off hand what color scheme you use. I have plenty of pictures of stuff I've done thus far in the projects forum, so you can see my progress there.

i'd also be willing to repaint them up for you kevin; i've been wanting to try painting a SoB army the last 2 years, but didnt want to buy an army just to paint it up. i'd have to look at the army as a whole and then give you an idea on prices. i usually just charge the cost of supplies + whatever seems reasonable for the amount of labour involved, which i work out in agreement with the person before i begin.

you've seen my stuff, and dan's thunderhawk was done by me as well.

also, if you just want to build up in the existing color scheme i've seen some of your girls in, i think i could touch them up and make them get the extra detail without too terribly much work, as you've got a good starting point with all your basecoat colors. i might save you alot of money right there if all i have to do is shading, layering, and highlights.

My only advice is to think hard before using anything online. A buddy of mine did and was terribly disappointed. Basically turned out for what he could have done himself.

All are in the US and expensive as hell. If I won the lottery and was going to have an army painted, I'd go Blue Table. (He has downloadable spreadsheets, that may be good for figuring out hw much you should offer)

There is also worthy painting @ MiniWarGaming, again expensive.

I'd talk to a few of the guys around here and see if there is anyones style you like that wouldn't charge that much.

Paintedminis.com has a great reputation and isnt that expensive.
