F*$&^%$^( frustrating orks...

I've been working on an Ork army and I'm finding playing the list and picking new units to be a lot of fun, every game seems to be a hoot.

My issue.... many of the ork kits are SO DAMN fiddly! Seriously, I have to build a suspension for my Trukks? The Battlewagon seems a little better. I was putting together Lootas last night and when i got to the Meks (don't judge me:)) The head actually gets in the way of the arms.

I still have 30 odd boys to put together, but that doesn't seem too bad. Its the Deff Dread and Kans I am worried about.

Anyone have any advice on how to make this easier/speed things up? Or have I been playing/bulding marines too damn long (Last time I did rhinos I put 3 together in less than 30 minutes).

With Orks, if everything lines up nice and neat, you're doing it wrong.

My advice, derived from my above statement, would be to not worry about making the model perfect. Just putz around with it and have fun.

Use heads from different sets. You don't need to have a bolt coming out of your chin to look like a Mek. I used a bunch of Burna heads on my loota's, because I liked the cigar dudes. You can also swap out that horrible KMB for a gun that won't kill you from your boyz set (Rokket for +5pts, or a Big Shoota for free).

As for Boyz... they are what they are. Shoota Boyz are easy to put together though, glue the feet to the base first, then cut out the rest of the pieces while the glue's drying. Everything's easy after the legs.

As for Trukks, they suk. On the plus side, none of the upgrades are worth the points, so don't feel like you need to glue on that boarding ramp or wrecking ball. Save those bits for something later on :-)

The boys seem like they'll be easy. The lootas were a little fidly but not bad. The mek was crazy.

The battlewagon actually went together decent, sorta "auto-aligns" itself.

The trukk is just.... lets just say I enjoyed my vasectomy more.

I see a lot of conversion potential there but wow, horrible to put together, right up there with old skool Land Speeders.

wasnt so bad. ran out of frozen peas before i ran out of episodes of firefly tho

trucks do suck. so fragile. you'de think that something that an ork was using for more than say... 30 seconds, would have to be more robust than a milk crate tied to a skateboard with with a shoestring.

2 bags. Alternate. And don't scream like a girl when your 4 year old jumps in your lap. Even if you want to die right then.

Are y'all talking trukks modeling wise, gameplay or both?
