While the Empathic Oblitorator no longer works on the Sweep Attack due to phase based dependencies, the extra D6 Str 6 Init 10 hits generated by his Chariot Charge makes him far more likely to get that needed unsaved wound on the masses. While it wouldn't be that good against Space Marines, especially Terminator based armies like Knights and Deathwing, I could see this actually being effectual against Nids and Orkz and Guard. The lack of Invulnerable save is irksome, though. The recent change to power weapons helps with that, admittedly.

I don't think those attacks can take advantage of the empathic obliterator, it's simply a number of S6 hits.

The wording is "If Trazyn kills one or more enemies in close combat, ...", and Hammer of Wrath is him charging in doing the D6 hits, so the language currently points to it going off, especially since it is happening in Initiative order, thus assuring proper phase state.

The Chariot hits wouldn't count, as it's the chariot doing the hitting. However, I think he's much more playable than he used to be.
