Monsterous Creatures no longer get 2D6 armour pen. Not sure if this will transfer to the Warscythe or not (Surfboard lord Nerf?)
Although, Singing Spears no longer get 3xS, they wound on 2+ and get 2D6 armour pen... maybe Warscythe's will get a similar rule.
Poor Nids, you get Vector Strike, then lose the 2D6 Armour Pen that'd make it cool.

That's right. So they can double their strength to, usually 10, at half their attacks. No word on if it works with a Vector Strike (which would be the trick here)
S10 + D6 < S7+ + 2D6

Sounds like MC's are still AP2 ---
Also, there's two new USR's
Armourbane -- Roll 2D6 for armour pen
Fleshbane -- Wounds on a 2+
Singing Spears are Armourbane and Fleshbane, apparently.

exactly. so the Bloodthirsters and such of the world have a much better chance of penning than random Str 5 nids, or Str 6 Daemon princes.
currently in 5th, any creature designated as a MC owns any sort of armor almost automatically. this rule gets a +1 from me, even if it nerfs one of my go-to units.
doubtful if it works with vector strike. In fact i'de lay down a bright shiney red $50 bill on it not working.

from reading up on it, i dont think they work together either; sounds like vector strike is a specific attack that works one way, and Stomp/Smash/Grrr w/e this one's called, is a totally different attack you declare that uses half your attacks at double str
Re: 6th Ed Monstrous Creature Nerf O_O
yeah, two different abilities used in two different phases. Vector strike is an ability activated during movement that results in a number of "hits" Smash! is an activated ability used in the combat phase.
that being said, there are USR's that give the old 2d6 penetration rules. so some MC's may end up with it anyway once a FAQ is released.

Re: 6th Ed Monstrous Creature Nerf O_O
yea, Armorbane and Fleshbane. 2D6 armor pen and wound on 2+ respectively.
i dont see why MC wouldnt get these as they already have these rules, yea? it'll just be a USR now that they can refer to and give to other models as well.
more USRs for the special rules found in codices means more people being aware of what those rules are if they dont own/read all the codices that get released. thats always winning.

They might not get them, as the Smash rule or whatever it is, effectively replaces it.

Smash with Armorbane would just be dirty. Str 10 + 2d6?

Re: 6th Ed Monstrous Creature Nerf O_O
smash without armorbane is fairly crappy IMO.
How many attacks will any MC get with it? the average is probably going to be 2. Against moving targets, you hit on 3+ usually, so you'd get 1.3 hits... and then you have to roll to pen...
Does anyone know if STR can go over 10 with smash? because if it cant...
odds of actually smashing anything with smash are fairly low

Re: 6th Ed Monstrous Creature Nerf O_O
im not super sure on those things the vector strike thing is nuts (you can move your mc up to 24" and do a swipe attack like the surfboard lord). Besides from a biased standpoint wraithlords are already str 10 3 attacks on the charge and with a wraithsword reroll missed hits, that will likely be dead vehicles. And putting it that way dreadknights with the hammer? same delio except! they get even more attacks and could potentially vector strike.... haha i love how everyone freaks out. Im very confident that if the changes are as good as they were in fantasy this will be a very solid edition of 40k. (the only way they went wrong in fantasy was with the magic really, and even then its still pertty balanced most of the time).
