storm talon conversion
so here's my conversion so far. making it into an AH-64 Apache type body, just debating if i wanna add a rotor, or treat it like the Orcas in Command & Conquer since its got the 2 main engines and 4 underbelly vector thrusters.

Obvious Pro-Tip: paint the cockpit and pilot first :-)

Given the way you have the missiles attached to the engine blocks, I'd give it rotors. Otherwise, when the engines vector to hover mode, all you can do is fire teh missile straight up.
I'm REALLY not a fan of the chin turret. I have a spare T/L AssCan from the Ravenwing sprue if you'd like to make that look a little sleeker.

Re: storm talon conversion
i've got 8 sets of those from the biker army i made. the apache has a big gun under the nose anyways so it works for me.
as for the engines, i dont think they'd 'have' to tilt in the first place; there's 4 big engine ports on its belly for hover mode; they sure wouldn't be used when in flight mode given the location and angle they sit.
the problem is finding a large enough rotor off of some toy in the store that'll be believable if i go that route.

Re: storm talon conversion
The apache has a big gun turret, yes. But look at pics of it, it's NOWHERE the size of the storm-talons. That is the Bruce Campbell of chin turrets.
Those lower turrets are an RCS system, they simply allow it to transverse in the XYZ directions. The jet engines or a rotor would have to provide enough lift to cancel out gravity. (Loook up a Harrier jump-jet to see what I mean.)
OK now I'm taking this too seriously, moving along.

Strap Rokkits to the side. Make it look like it was hit from a low angel by duds, but they're still burning fuel. That should provide lift, right?

Re: storm talon conversion
made a new light box today and took a new photo of the storm talon to test it out:
Re: storm talon conversion
In your light tent make sure the lights are positioned in between your mini and the camera. If you've got the lights behind the mini then you'll just be getting a ton of shadows in your pics.
