how much is to much Empty how much is to much

So like most long time players I have more than or two armies kicking about. In fact I have 6 armies. But do I play all the armies very often. Well I tend to play one or two of the armies the most and the rest tend to sit and collect dust.

I know it is a personal pref as to what you should keep. you never know what you might need. But how much is to much, I know I have way to much IG stuff, I will never use all of it in one game, even apoc I would not play it all.

right now I am toying with getting my CSM army up and running.....I am just not sure what is good to field for my taste. I am also really enjoying my SOB lists and my vanilla marines as well.

So now I am thinking that for my person pref 3 armies is what I llike to play with and I am now torn with getting rid of the other few armies that I have...I think...maybe.

I am just wondering what everyones ideal number of lists/armies is to have.

I think it mostly depends on your situation.

The game is a hobby, so there is no pressure to get rid of models or armies unless you want to use the equity you have invested in them on something else.

If your comfortable... i would never sell off anything you think you might play one day.

I have barely gotten ridden of anything since I started playing.. its getting a bit out of hand. Even so, I would never be able to get rid of anyhting Ive modelled and painted myself.. although Id probably be able to part with anything Ive bought or received from other people.

That being said, Ive been thinking about getting rid of my fantasy stuff. I have two armies, on epainted and one not.. but it takes up alot of room and Ive played..oh, maybe 2 games in the last 5 years. If I did, that would be the first stuff Ive ever sold.. but might be time.. Smile

But personally, I dont think Id hacve a problem keeping a few armies in reserve and on the go.. as long you have the room, and an understanding roomate/wife/girlfriend.. Smile

This is something I have also considered I have two armies. My SM and GK's. I'm probably going to build a 2k Imperial Guard list and I also have some Orky Black Reach stuff built and painted. I got the basement (Daddies last place of zen..... errr um office), so I have tons of space. But my main worry is coming home from work and finding my two little cuties playing with daddies troops, tanks and flying thingys. And they would be in peices.... Many.... MANY PEICES...

I find that selling off stuff is a waste since you only get a fraction of the value for it so I always kept my stuff...anyway my hoard is unbeatable:

I essentially have 14 full armies worth....

40k
4000 points of imperial guard (essentially 2000pts standard guard 2000 pts armoured company )
1 war hound titan
1 shadow sword

2000 pts plague marines
1500pts chaos marines
1000pts odds and ends cult chaos marines

daemons (see fantasy)

Fantasy armies (2000pts fantasy = 1500 pts 40k)

2000pts undivided chaos mortals
2000pts chaos troll themed army
1500pts tzeentch mortals
1000pts beasts of choas stuff

1000pts ish of Dark elves

10 000 pts easy of daemons (1 army for each of the 4 gods at 2000pts plus extras)

If you aren't enjoying a particualar army/model/unit, by all mean. When I got to the point I realized I was never gonna build some of my stuff I sold of what wasn't appealing to me anymore (Eldar, etc)

Stash: Pretty sure you have more painted and as much assembled as me. I'd have to do an inventory for an accurate count. (I think I'm @ around 30K in 40K models, including everything).

That's just my balls. Everyone get's to see my balls. But I think it's only "indecent exposure" if you show your balls and cock at the same time. At least that's the defense I was going to use.

To help get this thread back on track, if someone feels they have too many armies and were looking to give away one or two, I would generously provide my services in receiving them. cheers

Tom, that sentence doesn't read favorably for you, given the above context.

Although, I think that army might be stuck in the male.... errr I mean mail.

(haha, I think I'm hilarious)
