1500 is good unless you want to test a bigger list.

I wouldn't mind 1850 or 2000 if you have the models or a list you want to try.

Horseman said he would brag had he won, so it makes my trashtalk after the fact okay.

Tabling on the top of turn 3. The game consisted of my termagants and other piddly attacks inflicting wounds on his 40 point guys with swords and them rolling 1's and 2's. I also got lots of 1's and 2's. On mindshackle scarab rolls.

It was a stunning indictment on the Lychguard Unit. Watching them die to Termagaunts didn't exactly fill my heart with confidence :-) I think they're better matched up against Terminators, but my match with Mike S didn't work favorably for them either! They need a Night Scythe so they can pick their fight.

They performed better in the other game, but I wouldn't say that Lychguard are as consistent performers as they look on paper. Relying on two mindshackle scarabs to take things out of combat isn't a good idea. I might go back to Praetorians... or... something else??? (I need scoring units)

Edit: Scott :-) You forgot two Hive Guard units killing two barges on Turn 2, after their 1st turn shooting yielded only 1 dead genestealer :-) *laughs* That game was a comedy of Necron errors. I did have one lucky roll or two with the Scarabs though. There's like the one unit that always performs (well... except against Mike S's thunderfire cannons, they didn't like those so much! *laughs*)

In your defence, it's a pretty horrible matchup for the Necrons. All of your anti-vehicle tech is worthless. He has poison and rending all over the place. His stuff is fearless, yours is not. No excuse, but you probably felt like the Tyranids usually feel when staring across the field at row upon row of vehicles. "How the heck am I gonna do this?"

I thought my shooting would do okay, actually. I was totally wrong Razz

Also, Scott's list was really good. Everything worked well with the rest of his army, and every piece had its place. Overall, a very solid list.

My Nids got alot more competitive when I finally figured out how to play genestealers (not Ymgarls) properly. I had so much bad luck with them in previous edition being really expensive pin cushions but these days, they produce for me almost every game.

Except against Tim's list in the last tournament, where he had all rhinos, speeders, and dreadnoughts. Ugh.

You are correct. It was kind of a bizarre match actually. Lots of Mindshackle scarab business.
