I'd love to say I'm surprised, but I grew up in the Bible belt playing D&D and went thru the whole Chick tracts/D&D is Satanic/causes kids to commit suicide/etc. Anybody here ever got sent home for reading the DMG in study hall?

Given the fact GW is determined that every army/race has a hidden agenda/dark secret, this is bound to happen. Meh. On the plus side, this crap is usually so far to the left or right, 90% of the population doesn't pay attention to it.

They also could have been pulling her leg. If some idiot came in and the first thing they said was that Black Templars looked Nazi-ish, I'd be inclined to make them look stupid as I possibly could.

It's not cool to attack someone because of their gender or nationality guys. You are doing exactly what the journalist did by saying bad things about something she didn't understand. The article doesn't appear to be (I can't read Greek) attacking anyone directly, just the idea of the game. Many people attack warhammer for different reasons. I find it very offensive this attacking attitude especially the stereotypes being presented. I'm ashamed at your guys' attitudes. I thought you were all better than that. It's one thing to complain about a spouse/girlfriend for not understanding but to attack someone you only know through an article which was summed up from a third party?

Well sadly there is always something lost in translation when dealing with printed matter. Different languages especially can create whole different meanings or intent. The translator knew the subject matter inside out and spoke both Greek and English, yet still cautioned that certain things might look different in English. As for the comments, on a forum you cannot pick up on a sarcastic tone, an exasperated sigh, an eyeroll, or other mitigating factors. I guess that's what emoticons are for, although those don't always work either. Greg, I would think you would know me well enough to know I'm not a chauvinist pig, but if your wife reads the forums then cudos to you because your response will definitely earn you some husband credits! Those can be redeemed later for valuable merchandise

I just wanted to say that above mentioned article represents journalism in its worst from. The writer obviously had some sort of agenda and the conclusions reached were not supported by the text in the article. A person's religious and political beliefs have no bearing on a fun hobby everyone can enjoy. For example, I could travel to Greece tomorrow and spend an enjoyable two hours playing a game of Warhammer 40K with someone I don't know and can't communicate with. That is what Warhammer 40K is all about. This is a game that is played by millions of people worldwide and its players are as diverse as humanity itself. To highlight a perceived focus on neo-nazism is irresponsible and disgusting. For shame.
