Off to Victoria

So I am off to victoria for work. I am getting to bring out 1000pts of my CSM to team up with another CSM Player. So we will have 2000pts of CSM VS Black templar and BA. So what am I taking?

It is to bad that I do not have another rhino to put my zerkers in, I could def do beter for a list. I will have to play real aggressiveand get into close cbt. This will be the 2nd time i have played my CSM in any game. I am looking for some tactical advice on this list against BT and BA

Well, you have 1000 points worth of stuff and nothing that can kill vehicles and a bunch of (overcosted) guys on foot. It looks like a fourth edition army. If you can, work some more combi-meltas into your terminator squad. I understand you're doing a fluffy thing with the Noise Marines and Lucious and whatnot. If your opponents are doing the same thing you might have a decent game, but the problem is those armies have workable codexes. If you try to take a fluffy army with a codex that is already full of overcosted crap you're going to have a real tough time having a balanced game.

A really tight CSM list versus a fluffy BA list could well make for a balanced game. Templars are a bit more limited, but they can still have terminators with preferred enemy, etc. Do you know what sort of stuff your opponents will be fielding?

I only have one other hq choice right now for the CSM, and it would be a regular chaos lord, so nothing spectacular. I know I have nothing to take vehicle out except geting into assault with it. I know that the BAs could field anything, he has 25000 pts worth of them. the BT only have shooty termies one daka pred one LR crusader. I am not sure what he will take but I think he will be heavy infantry as that is what he has most.

I know that the other guy on my team will be taking anti vehicle.

I also know that one person I am playing against has not played in 2 years, the other in 3 months. I think that I will be able to out play them.

my plan is to run the zerkers behind the rhino if i have too, but will most likely rely on cover. I am going to depe strike the termies to caus some havoc in the back field. I am going to rely on my noise marines to take an objective.

even though it is a fluffy list I think it will be a fun game, we are also planning on doing some boarding action games.

really depends on what models you have available.

I'd lend you a rhino just to make sure those zerkers have a chance to get into combat.

TBH though, if it was me, and i had this list to work with... i would probably swap Lucius out and put in Kharn, with my berzerkers, in the rhino. Get a personal icon into the squad so you can bring your termies in on it, and support the assault. (if you just have the Lucius model, he would still be well served to be riding with the zerkers, mixed marks notwithstanding)

Deepstriking the termies into the backfield to "cause havoc" seems like a good way to strand them somewhere without support

If one squad has to be on foot, it might as well be the squad that is (somewhat) good at shooting, or even moving and shooting. (noise marines)

One hopes that your partner chaos player has a Daemon Prince, 3 units of obliterators to open up armor and a couple more min sized troop choices in rhinos with meltas .
