ok, for starters, when writing your army lists for others to review, you should keep things orderly so we can see who belongs where. your platoons have to be taken with this and that squad being stated as it belongs to this or that platoon. i know it means re-typing out squads like your identical command squads, but tough; you need to show which infantry squads and heavy weapons teams belong where. that's just a part of the game.

Second, don't rename wargear. ever. it's not a plasma rifle. its a plasma gun. there's a weapon called a plasma rifle in the Tau Codex, so you're going to confuse people doing that. and don't name the blades machetes, and bayonets, and so on. just call it a Close Combat Weapon, or CCW for short. everyone playing 40k will know right away what your talking about. when you start renaming them for your background and personal tastes, you start confusing other players. nothing in this game gets a special name unless it has a special rule.

overall, its a nice looking infantry-based list. But i see a couple things to mention. These two squads here, im gonna just type what's wrong:

you have a nice idea going here, a squad meant to be very good at shooting and killing heavy infantry like Power Armoured forces with the plasma guns, and a squad that's good at shooting and killing tanks. BUT. you have a couple mistakes. one, dont mix melta and plasma in one squad. keep them all one type. what you're going to be shooting the plasma guns at doesn't need a melta gun; they kill as good as a melta gun against heavy infantry, and they get a second shot in the 1-12" range, where the melta gun does not. and meltas focus on armor, which plasma is not recommended for; you're just wasting shots. so make him a 3rd plasma gun.

next, dont put something like a power fist with the plasma gun guys. that's a weapon meant for killing tanks in melee, so its better off with the melta gun squad. if you want a good weapon for killing heavy infantry in melee, give that sergeant a plasma pistol and power sword, and give the power fist to the melta veteran sergeant instead.

also, i'd upgrade all your sentinels to have smoke launchers as well; read what they do, as its a handy rule for protecting them from being shot at for a turn.

lmao. well, i figure he's not gonna learn unless one of us vets explains what he's doing wrong. hopefully he doesnt glaze and actually reads everything i pointed out so he learns how to improve his lists, and make his squads a little more deadly.

i wouldnt really say patient. i would go with waaaay to much free time but he does have a point, this newbe needs a little *cough* guidence, lol

In Dom's defense,

A) Compare his recent posts to his first few. There is still a lot of room for improvement, but he's lightyears from where he was.

B) Keep in mind how long he's been playing, the first few months is a huge learning factor. Again, look at what he was playing when he first started.
