Hey Dark Eldar players. Is this type of thing doable? I don't own the codex and don't understand the transfering of pain tokens:

Example:
Haemonculus starts the Hellions.
Baron starts with Wracks.
Both units have 1 pain token.

Dark Eldar first turn:

Haemonculus leaves Hellions to get into a Venom, leaving them with his pain token.
Wracks leave the Baron to get into Venom, leaving the Baron with a pain token.
At this point the Hellions have 1 pain token, and the Baron has 1 pain token.

The Baron joins the Hellions, giving the unit 2 tokens total, so that they benefit from both Furious Charge, and FNP on their fist turn.

Just curious, and would like to understand better. And no, nobody used this on me.

From what I understand that is doable. I beleive you can actually go for all 3 tokens to start for a few units by getting 3 Haemonculi as 1 HQ choice, and some cheap 3-man wrack squads

That is a legal move. The only restriction is that if a character leaves a unit with pain tokens they have to be split as evenly as possible. So if there is only one, the DE player gets to choose. If there is two then the unit must keep one and the character must take one.

Sounds like you got all your all your answers.. but just a quick note. I did see in the current white dwarf one of the players was using a haemonculous hq'd and wrack heavy list.. they made special reference that one unit was able to start with three pain tokens.

Had this happen to me twice and man it hurts. Still can't sit down for longer then a few minutes. As a SM army how in the hell could you counter that.

Beat the little T3 Elfses down with LOTSA Autocannon fire (for melle heavy units) and Big Smashy Daemon Princes (For lower Init units... probly the guns are a better route)

So, for SM to beat down Elves, start praying to your local blood god!

I don't think it's the Wracks SM's have to worry about. It's the big Helion unit with the Baron and two pain tokens to start that will give SM's fits, or most other armies for that matter. Especially if DE get the first turn.
