what're your pet peeves?
for interest and curiosity sake, i wanted to see what everyone's peeves are and see how many of us have common ones amongst us.
i'd say my top ones are.....
people who eat with their mouth open/ loud enough that you can hear them eating food (very nasty)
and people that hawk like theyre gonna spit cause "my throat needs clearing" also very nasty.
and people that insist on singing loudly and very off-key (more cause im learning guitar and hearing stuff offkey drives me NUTS!)
oh, and people that play their ipods and mp3 players on speakers in public places forcing others to listen to their definition of "music" instead of using headphones.
so what're your guys' peeves?

Re: what're your pet peeves?
Are we talking everything or just gaming??
My wife has a bad habit of saying things right as I go downstairs/around a corner. When I tell her I can't hear her and ask her to repeat that, she does, only half the volume.
She also leaves open all the kitchen cabinet doors... I've lost track of how many times I've brained myself in the middle of the night.
I'm also a little tired of ppl who assume all Americans are red-neck A-holes. There are a lot of us and it takes all types. And Canada has some redneck a-holes as well.
Drivers who don't signal or who drive hyper aggressively... especially here. You're in Saskatchewan, why the hell are you in such a hurry??
Canada Revenue. I am convinced a blind, deaf, dumb monkey with a lobotomy runs that branch of the government.
Fast-food restaraunts that cannot take a simple order.
Gaming wise.
WAAC gamers, who bring Razorspam/Leafblower/what have you to a casual gaming scene. Read Jawaballs latest post to see what I mean.
People who only play within their "clique", we aren't in high school anymore (except Ben S.) The Niagara scene was notorious for this, "We don't play noobs."
People who cheat. It's 40K/D&D/Battletech/Hackmaster.... is your self esteem really THAT low????
Unpainted armies. I am not saying "Why can't you paint at a Gold Daemon level?" I'm saying, why can't you at least get some colour on them? Go to B&CS and search "Ironjens", this guys has the right idea on how to paint and how to get better.

Re: what're your pet peeves?
i agree on the drivers too; candice keeps bugging me cause she thinks im so negative about people on the road when im driving cause i'll cuss out all the bad drivers; she doesn't understand like we do; she doesn't have a driver's license.
Re: what're your pet peeves?
Saskatchewan easily has the worst drivers in Canada. It's because we have so much space and so little traffic. Nobody really needs to learn how to drive, so they don't.

@Tim - Yes.
@Roland - Yes, you're about two hours north of Canadian Redneck Asshole Capitol right as we ... speak? type? read, i suppose. Although I would consider Grand Prairie to have more rednecks, possibly less assholes though.
My biggest pet peeve is the phrase pet peeve, that's actually true.

Re: what're your pet peeves?
Sask has bad drivers, worse than Toronto or Houston, better than Buffalo or Atlanta. More than anything they are just inconsistent with their driving. In Houston they think it's a monster truck rally, Atlanta thinks its NASCAR, Toronto and Buffalo just don't know how to merge. EVER.
NOTHING is as bad as Paris. I would not drive there for a hundred billion dollars. I didn't even like crossing the street. Boston is a close second.
@Tom: Really, Regina is that bad? I assumed the Redneck/Asshole epicenter would be somewhere in Alberta.

Re: what're your pet peeves?
Since this is a gaming forum, my biggest pet peeve, nay, rage inducing hatred, is for PEOPLE WHO DON'T WEAR DEODORANT, WASH OR TAKE CARE OF THEMSELVES WHEN IN =I=censor=I= PUBLIC.
I'm looking at you, Magic players...
I now pass through a veritable monsoon of stank and funk to get to the 40k tables.
Also, magic players who take up an entire gaming table for a card game, something that can be done ANYWHERE.
Thanks, now I have to scramble for room to play a space intensive, time intensive game, and the space provided by Darren (earned from the vast quantity of cash I splurge on this habit) is being used... for a game that requires cards, and a flat surface.
So I guess I just have a grudge against Magic: the gathering.

Actually I have driven in Edmonton and Seattle, and they are far superior to Saskatchewan drivers. Are you trying to do some kind of thing with an intentional typo or something? Because this just looks like one of your normal posts.

Re: what're your pet peeves?
Im not a fan of people who like to eat a bag of chips then pick up other peoples figs or even thier own if they are painted well... god damn.
Lash... See above. I dont like the fact that the power lets your opponent touch your models. Just tell me where you want them and how you want them and there you go. I dont want a greasy handed, butter fingers, opponent I dont like handling my figs.
and matt kerr
thoes are my gaming pet peeves.

lmao! nice!
Re: what're your pet peeves?
@ Paz: Totally agree, although if you notice, there is ONE magic player who goes out of their way to "freshen up". There's some meta-gaming for you.
And it could be worse, when I was in Houston, a typical summer day was 37C, w/100% humidity. Now imagine a crowded game store. Or better yet, don't.

I have a few..
People who honk their horns at me and give me the finger while I'm driving.. It happens ALL the time.
The way Dana looks at me when I pick up and handle his figs.
People who talk behind my back about how much I smell.
And Matt Kerr.

i completely agree on this one. on all points. it gets so disgusting in there around these flippin card players who cant figure out what old spice or axe or ANY brand of "stop making me stink like the fetid vegetable water in a canned vegetable tin" is. I'm seriously gonna start bringing some febreeze and spraying in there when the stank gets to be too much. and not just into the air; right onto them. they dont like it? too bad; go shower and use that funny looking bar on the side. the one your mom calls SOAP.
and wtf?? you've got a pair of tables pushed together, can fit 12 people around it, and FOUR PEOPLE are sitting there playing cards?! REALLY?!?!?!? take your sorry butt down to walmart, and for $30, buy a 3'x3' card table. then go home and play there, so only your wife/roommates/mom have to put up with you and your fellow card slinging dorks' stench. really.
maybe we should start asking darren if weds and thurs evenings, we can kick them off the tables for our games that need the big 4x6 table for 2-3 hours straight, cause this is getting to be total BS, especially since there's a pair of them that even when you ask nicely and explain to them, they're little turds and refuse to give up the table, and will intentionally play through another round in their card game just to be spiteful to you.
Re: what're your pet peeves?
Ok, ok.. ease up fellas.
Wednesday nights are slotted for 40K games. Only on Wednesday nights. If the tables are filling up can we ask for people to move off of them.. and even then we're expected to make room as much as possible.
Thu. nights are for Magic from Darren has told me. The den makes alot of money off of magic cards, and if you think about it logcially.. if the den can fit 12 people around two tables, instead of the 4 people playing 40K at those two tables.. thats alot more people they are making happy.
Everyones there for the same reason, to have fun and enjoy their hobby. The den can just as easily stop the whole thing if to many people complain.
