Sisters-sounds like someone wants to nip that whole "allies" rule in the bud. Was hoping for a real release w/ new minis.

Necrons for xmas- nothing says "Happy Holidays" like a bunch of undead Terminators!

I'm betting the mystery box is fantasy.

I had heard rumours the mystery box is BLOODBOWL!!! Along the lines of a miniatures 'boardgame' ala Spacehulk being the last mystery.

That'd be pretty cool! Not my bag, but it'd probably be good for some conversions.

looking at the new rules out for SOB, I am a little disappointed.
1. it is coming out in two copies of WD;
2. the selection of units has decreased and are limited;
3. the point cost (not out yet) am hoping will reflect the actual ability of what SOB can do;
4. the rules in the WD do not cover everything (hope it is completed in the next issue).

I guess I have to wait and see for the next part of the rules to see how complete of a rule set it will be. But with GW I am not getting my hopes up and I can only hope that they will have a good FAQ sooner rather than later.

Selik, on your points:
1) Agreed, just put it in one WD. Putting it in 2 effectively makes it a $20 codex.
2) If I'm not mistaken, they've simply removed allies and inq? And half the retinue was incorporated into the Celestian Command Squad and Eccl. Battle Conclave. For "pure" sisters, they're all there.
3) As far as points for a basic sister, I'm betting on 125 pts for a squad of 10, +10/11 per additional. Base cost for others I'd expect to stay the same, but you get frag/krak etc. Cost of Rhinos, Immolators will come down (on par w/ GK Rhinos and RBacks I'd guess). Compared to before, I'd expect to be able to add a unit, or a ride for more troops, compared to before.
4) Given that its following the format of the BA codex pretty closely, i wouldn't expect additional rules. Part 2 will be a leadin page, the army list, and a summary page. 13-14 pages tops.

I do not mind that they lost the allies bit. it is the fact that they get one troop choice.

Actally, from the layout, I think Celestians may be.

I will hope that is the case. I think I will still try out my my old SOB army out with the new rules. I have a couple thousand points to play with. I am sure I will not do well with them, mostly because I never have enough time to put into the game to be real competetive. So I like to play for fun and try different build outs all the time.

I am wondering if anyone else is going to be playing SOB?

My wife has over 1500 points of SoB. I'm going to have her battle me to try them out when the second half releases.

I play SoB, they're one of my favorite armies to play.

And if you see that you're not liking the new codex, I can take those girls of yours off your hands, for a very reasonably fee of course.
