Dreadknight Weapons
Hey all,
I bought the GK codex cause I was interested in the fluff and stuff, but I do really like the army as well. I am trying my very best to not add another army to my collection.
I was wondering with a dreadknight though if there would be any point (other then points cost) of running a dreadknight with a Fist and a Gun rather then 2 Guns? With 2 guns, you would get the same number of CC attacks, and you would strike at Str 6 and ignore saves because of Monsterous rules. You would lose the Force weapon insta-kill thing.
Am I missing something?

Re: Dreadknight Weapons
You don't lose the FW instant death, as they are Nemisis doomfists, not std Dread CCW.
As for 1 or 2 guns, I believe it's preference and points. MC's can fire multiple weapons or just one?
AS far as which.... I honestly like the Heavy Incinerator myself, but I'm seeing a use for the Gatling Psilencer. The Heavy Psy seems a waste as a blast weapon, but it'd be best for taking out vehicles.

MC's can fire 2 guns.
If I were to run a dual gun guy, I would go with Hvy Incinerator and Gatling Psi.....hoard butherin' time.
This is all just me wondering really....as were I to do a DK, I would arm it a Sword and Gatling Psi.

Re: Dreadknight Weapons
I think the question should be, are Dreadknights even worth taking at all? Discuss. But the answer is no.

Re: Dreadknight Weapons
no, the real question is, do you find the model cool or not, cause if you dont like the model, no matter how worth it it is to take, you'll never use it. people will always use a useless unit if it looks cool. or at the very least, buy it.
Re: Dreadknight Weapons
I think they are definitely worth it, but as cheap as possible . I dont think any of the guns are worht it in terms of points.. but I like the Greatsword.. thats all Im going to slap in mine. He should at least suck up a bit of fire ..
I havent been able to decide on the teleporter ones though.. I could see two with teleported bveing scary.. but yikes, expensive. I suppose if you were going for a deep striking army or someting.. they'd have ther uses.

And like Dusktiger says....I like the model. I like the sword/Gatling Psi look....it is cool I think....it might be worthless....but that is beside the point.

Re: Dreadknight Weapons
and i salute you on that one. i agree and even though i dont play GK, i have toyed with the idea of getting one for painting. he can guard my model cars in the display case.
Re: Dreadknight Weapons
Well, there is soemthing to said for getting to roll a heavy 12 weapon.
If I ahd to choose a weapon, it would definitely be the Heavy Incinerator. I do plan on magnetizing it.. and at least giving ere a whirl now and then.. but for a tournie or something, Id be making his a cheap as possible. I
I still have to get mine modelled.. hes been out the package for three weeks now and I havent even clipped a bit off the sprue.. yikes.

Re: Dreadknight Weapons
The heavy in incinerator is fun. Str 6 ap4 12" range flame template scares all armies that have no power and even marines get burned on a 2+. as per cc weap it seems like its nothing or greatsword. Hammer doesn't seem worth it.
