Are you using an airbrush on this? If so a quick and easy thing I think looks nice on building and stone work is to mix 1:1:1 devlan mud, badab black, and water then airbrush about the bottom 1/3 of the ground floor sections. Doing another pass focusing on even close to the ground, and usually one more. Quick, cheap and easy if you're airbrushing that is.

no, i'm not airbrushing. this is all krylon spray paint done in quick passes.
should also note im not painting these to full completion, im just assembling and getting the basecoats in place. how far roland wants to go with the detail painting is up to him since he provided the paints and models. if i started painting all the fine detail work with my own paints then it wouldnt be right to assume its being done for free

If I can just say one thing about commission painting it's that you and the customer shoul be very clear on the details onthe project. If money is changing hands then I'd make sure you guys talk about everything before hand. Including a time table, what work you're actually doing onthe project, and of course money involved. Nothing worse then two people having different ideas about what the project actually involves when it comes time for you to collect your money, and the customer to collect their mini's.
I'm not talking about a goofy written contract or anything, but it is important for both sides to be in total agreement.

i'm well aware of that. what im saying is i offered to make them for him, and no mention of payment was mentioned; i'm not expecting anything for this, but if he thinks the effort and results worth something in return, cool. but i'm not expecting anything in the first place for assembly and basecoating. ergo why i stated anything beyond that with my own paints would require discussion on painting since it'll take more time than i have on my vacation.
Re: Cities of Death Commision for Roland
I believe the lead-up to all this was an Apoc game DT is planning, and he wanted to use my Fortress. I mention I would just have to put it together. He had 5 days vacation and I have a one month old. That was the extent that numbers were talked about:)
Honestly the amount of work you put into the fortress and the large building was WAY more than I expected. At least let me replace your plasticard or get those cool aquilla markers you showed me.

Fair enough! The "Commission" part of the thread title lead me to believe this was a cash on the barrel project. Carry on...
