Re: Basing Materials
I think GW sells a blister pack of skulls and the Den had/has some. Check the fantasy section.
As for basing I use good ole' sand from the lake. I try to collect 3 different grades. Except for my Lamenter army I'm currently (slowly) working on I sprung for Dragon Forge bases.

Re: Basing Materials
I use a mix of Home depot sand (3$ for 50 lbs) and some of the super fine sand from michaels for that retarded sand art crap. That was a buck for a couple pounds. The play sand is really course and the super fine sand for that art stuff helps make sure i get the sandy texture everywhere on the base.

Re: Basing Materials
As ryan said, GW does sell a skull pack, but they are all metal.
If those bases are pictures off the GW site, then they would of collected from pother components and glued them on.. they dont offer those types of materials for bases.
SOme of the basing companies definitely have skull feautred bases though. I was going to buy some of the WOrldeaters, but could find a balance that had a few skulls against those that were all skulls.
I like the look of those though.

Re: Basing Materials
They may also be from the Warhammer and Warhammer 40K Basing kits from GW. They are supposed to have some resin and etched brass pieces to use for bases etc. I've never actually seen them in person, and I'm not sure if they are a steal or a rip-off. Just sayin'.

Re: Basing Materials
Those skull bits are from the fantasy basing set. A tad pricey but fun to use. The kit comes with four or five little tubs of stuff I think.
