Anyone know offhand what the rules are for using non standard bases in 40k. In particular, can you use the 30mm warmachine bases for 40k without penalty, or does it cause issues now?

As far as I know you can use a different base size as long as it's bigger then the actual base, so using a 30mm base for a guy who should be on a 25mm base is fine.

``Technically`.. no one would give you grief, but according to actual rules, your opponent can ask you to njot use a model that is on it`s wrong base.
How come your using the warmachine bases.. cause they look nicer or you have alot
Another thing to consider is if your going to sell the models afterwards. You might have a harder selling a unit of plague marines if they are on non-GW bases.

I have talked to tom about having a custom base machined so that i can reproduce it for a new army, and the warmachine style would work better given the design. Tom, if you havent done that yet, maybe i should see if it would work on a 25mm scale as opposed to 30mm.
