5TH EDITION TYRANIDS
GW updated their website today. Some new stuff is there for Tyranids, hooray!
Codex

The new battleforce
http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat180003&prodId=prod370004a
Pyrovore
http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat180003&prodId=prod350004a
Hive Guard
http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat180003&prodId=prod370002a
Venomthrope (euw, hideous sculpt)
http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat180003&prodId=prod370003a
Plastic Gargoyles!
http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat180003&prodId=prod350002a
The new Trygon (and Mawloc, whatever that is)
http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat180003&prodId=prod340015a
Also note that Genestealers are still troops (duh, told you so ) and the Zoanthrope has been moved to Elites. The Brood Lord has been moved to Troops (probably a squad upgrade for Genestealers) EDIT: It would appear that GW moved the Warriors to troops-only instead of hq/elites... very interesting, we'll see how that turns out.
I'm even more excited, although not as excited until Maelstrom games updates their stock so I can start ordering some shiny new bugs

Price. Don't get me wrong, I buy the occasional thing there, but for large orders, I go online. 20%-50% cheaper, it's insane not to.

Re: 5TH EDITION TYRANIDS
That Pyrovore is pretty sweet! I might buy that hunka metal just to paint. The mawloc is.... terrible. Jeez. Like, the silliest thing ever. Hive guard=cool, but can you say "always tips over"? Gargoyles are sweet-tastic. I actually like the venomethrope!

Heh, yeah - same thing with the venomthrope. I mean, look at what all of that mass has to sit on... one tiny tail. I forsee a lot of broken models in the future

I think it's insane not to support the store who's league forum your posting onto. Dragons Den will be having their boxing week sale as well coming up, 20-25% off.
I wont rag on you to much for not buying at the Den.. but keep in mind all the support they give us, including allowing us to play there for free AND buying all the terrain. If your going to buy your Warhammer stuff somewhere else, just dont post it up on here or expect to take the heat..

Re: 5TH EDITION TYRANIDS
I've been in the league and made several purcahses, and haven't gotten said discount :[ didn't even know that still existed.
If darren does a "bulk discount", we'll see what ends up happening. I would much rather support DD but sometimes it's a wee bit... difficult (Destroyers are half price from certain vendors...)
but please, enough of the irrelevant discussion. MORE ABOUT CREEPY CRAWLIES!

i want all of them...
and i want some rules lol, it seems odd that there are all the rules for guard and wolves came out online more than a month in advance from release date but we got nothing on nids yet.

I will say though that new minis are looking good. I really, really wish they would of re-did the biovores though.. those are god awful ugly..
Unless I missed them..
Having the trygon will be nice for the Nid players to..

Re: 5TH EDITION TYRANIDS
no new biovores. The pyrovore looks to be an elites choice, and seems to be more in line with the concept art tehy did for biovores in 5th. Only took em a couple of years to realize they should really be using the cool designs, and not the retarded ones...

He has dragonball Z arms (cell imho) and a head made out of melted cheese. A total misfit in the tyranid army, visually.System Commander wrote:I really, really wish they would of re-did the biovores though.. those are god awful ugly..
I will only use that model if has the stats of a 2nd edition carnifex* and can shoot as well as three manticores.
* for those of you I haven't shown the 2nd edition codex, it has 8 toughness, 10 wounds, and generally very buffed stats compared to the little boy carnis we're used to fighting

Re: 5TH EDITION TYRANIDS
If you are in a league you get 10% off of merchandise related to that game.
I hope they fix the monsterous creatures. They were too cheap for what they did. Both a marine character and a hive tyrant paid the same points for flight and a 2+ armour save....greeeaaat

It was at some point between versions of both codexes.
20 for a jump pack/wings
20 for artificers armour/extendedcarapace/psychic force field
Daemon princes paying 60 points for wings in the daemon codex is a bit more realistic and I hope it comes into the tyranid book.

All you dudes asking about 10%= yes, there is one, but as Alan, Darren or Zia might not know you, you have to tell them about the 10%.
