paint day

when will we have a paint day at the den?

Its on the 13 i think thats next sunday and it starts at 12:00 but the guy said most peaple dont show tell 1 so..up to you

What do we all bring for the paint day??

I would suggest you bring brushes, paints, a pallet, and a surface to paint on so that you dont get it on the tables. Also a container to put water in so you can clean your brushes. I always took a lamp with me because the lighting isnt great, but its probably not needed. Think that should cover the basics.

The den will supply water pots and newspaper for the table, just bring paints, brushes and as Cam said, anything else you think would help.

Hey what time does it end at the paint day?

Well, the den is open from 12-5, so you can come and go anytime within there. This is an informal thing Evilsun.

I would just like to say, anyone who says they don't know how to paint, or are unsure of how to, need to come down to a paint day. I gotta say, I was pretty disappointed with the turnout last Sunday. Evilsun did show up for a bit with some of his friends, so props there . Other than that, I was the only one there from 1 till 5.

But seriously, paint day is a day to hang out and party, learn new things, and get some figs poshed up with a lick o' paint! If you can't make a Sunday, fair enough, but it has been advertised for 3-4 weeks on the front door of the den, so pshaw!

pps= I am not blaming anyone (other than Ben), I would just like to see a flourishing painters community. We've got near on 30 ppl in the league, and 2 come out to paint? Its sad!!

I've thought about going down to paint, but there's a lot of stuff I would feel lost without and don't want to lug down to the den and back. I used to be able to just jump in with a brush and a few paints but in my old timer-ness I find I need lot's and lot's of stuff to paint with.

Ya their wasnt that many peaple it was pretty dissapointing.
But it was nice to hangout with the master of the deathwint(kieran) and sewerstalker(rhett) theranger(riley)
I wish i would of painted a little bit more but i didnt really know what to paint but i managed to pull out the catachan snipers and a rhino..
By the way if any one finds a paint brush at the den it was probally mine i cant remember what size tho...I might of left it in the car just thought i would tell you so if you find it...
Whens the next paint day?

hey in my defense i was going to go but my friends showed up and were all like, hey wanna hang out i was like sure, then we started watching the twilight zone and well its addicting so we watched that til, 6 ish, i am sorry but not even 40k can compare to the might of rod sterling.

Hey Ben, i know you are young, so im not angry or irritated, but when you cant make it to a previous commitment you should not tell the people involved that it was because you found something more fun to do. Im sure no harm was meant, just a heads up. The old excuses, i was kidnapped by aliens, the dog ate my army, i had to get a triple bypass. Those are all much better.

Sorry to hear there was such a poor turnout, and props to paz for trying to motivate the rest of you slackers.

I totally forgot about the paint day. I am also kicking myself for forgetting about the paint day, as I was hiding in the basement painting while the wife was having an Arbonne party upstairs. Oh, what a perfect excuse for escaping the house that would have been...

Ben= what Cam said. Not funny, don't agree to something and not show up, not cool.

Evilsun= dunno. Whenever we plan one, which may work better than the den trying to set it up. Sadly no one from any other miniatures game showed up... (I was even painting helldorado figs, so 40k not represented much). I won't be setting one up, unless I set it up with some buds, but I will post it on here, if anyone has the inkling to get involved

Scott= Don't I know it! I need to lug over a huge box o' paints, a lamp, and all accessories! But I find if I put the time into getting it all to the den, I do get loads done, especially in this weather.
